you are thinking the engine harness which is easy.
The MAIN harness is not even remotely close to easy.
Basically requires the dash be pulled, BOTH front quater panels, both EFI fuse panels (inside the engine bay and inside the cabin) and then the harness will come out in one piece.
Toyota diesels are very hard to come by around the US&Ay.

86.5 was NA only so the coil should be sourced from another supra. I am unaware of a drop in replacement for after market but never delved into NA before.

No it is actually quite hard. The harness if it does not have those provision for the TEMS will need to be added. I can tell you from the rats nest that is the OEM harness that it is not a simple or easy job by any stretch of the imagination.
