Looks like the cap that is sometimes mounted to the back of the alternator, can't be sure though.

Also, as this has to be said, as people seem to skip it. ANYTIME you change any components in the clutch system, you MUST readjust the clutch pedal freeplay. Too little freeplay and you're basicly riding the clutch causing slippage, glazing, and premature wear. Too much and the clutch isn't...

NP. The miata has the same issues we do with the upper ball joints being an entire assembly with the upper A-arm. Makes premature failure expensive. There is a company that makes rebuildable upper ball joints for the miata though, and some off the shelf energy suspension dust covers work well.
