aye propper stuffy twat that presenter like. i cant remember a mkiii being on top gear. then again i was only young. they did blow that black one up a while ago. but thats the newer better top gear rather than the old man crackly sort of top gear
haha thats from a while ago. all those cars on f plates would have been 1988. when i saw the intro i could remember it though at thatime i didnt know what a mkiii was
haha some of the cars are really old fashioned looking now
i had to get set of funnels of various sizes and jamb them all together and then be real carefull that i didnt spill any as it tried to overfill each funnel. stupid shop round my way didnt sell an auto box funnel
my car has this fault just now, real annoying. it causes missfires etc. This can also be caused by the spark plug galley cover bolts allowing oil to come up through them aswell.
if its an auto it cant be done that way.
if its an auto measure out what was drained off and then using a clean measuring jug put the same amount back into the box through the dipstick tube in the engine bay.
this is if its an auto
yeah guess ths an idea. i built it up again so i could use the car but its easy enough to pull it all apart.
the ecu plugs looked fine to me no signs of corrosion
ahh i missread. ok man cheers will do
both ecu's were for an auto. they are both exactly the same bar 1 number.
dont get me wrong. there is still some running issues with the car. its still runing rough. slight miss etc (im assuming thats to do with the oil in the plug wells)
its just its now running a lot slower.
I figure...
just by look and touch mostly, the ones that are up by the top of the engine ive removed and inspected, the ones under the intake manifold ive only been able to feel around for any splits. I replaced the pipe on the pas idle up that runs from the hard pipe on the front of the engine close to the...
right, i found the original ecu for my car in a box in my shed.
I remember i swapped it over about 2 years ago when i was chasing about trying to find another daft fault. (it turned out in that instance to be a fault with the alarm. code 14 iirc)
i stripped out the glove box and removed...
ahh right.
ill give you a basic outline.
I thought i had a vac leak as i have a high idle speed etc.
i cant find a vac leak though (well a split in any pipe)
so i figured it could be a problem with the temp sensor making the engine stay in warm up mode permanently.
Also the temp...
When reading the manual quite often it mentions to check a sensor with a multi meter and it gives a range of temperatures. Im guessing this is the ambient temp? and 0 - 20 degrees c would be the ideal place to start in this sort of wether? (i live in uk and were experiencing a bit of a cold...
haha.
I read a story in one of the national papers recently. It was one of those bad news days when they fill the papers with random shit.
Anyways. these 2 criminal guys in austria (perhaps another european country) were being transported in a big prison van. It crashed and these 2 managed...
will do if i find anything. probably have to leave the middle cover off for a bit to see if anything comes out though. one of many things i need to do now to this car
when i replaced my spark plugs the other day i had what seemed like droplets of coolant on the plug lead boots (below the spark plug galley cover) and there seemed to be steam coming from them aswell. yet there was no evidence of oil and water mixing together in the oil that was surrounding the...
aye ive replaced the plugs, yeah there was a lot of oil and shit down there. Im gonna clean all that out this weekend.
I ordered new rocker gaskets today from toyota.
im gonna go buy a timing light aswell just to check the timing out.
well this random mystery may be partly solved. the plugs were soaked in oil due to the cam cover gaskets leaking. (oil in plug wells) so thats one thing sorted for now. Im gonna order new gaskets tomorrow and fit them when there delivered so thatll probably be next weekend now
hmmmm. I just went for a drive to warm her up a bit. When i back of the throttle and the revs drop off (its an auto) it seems to drop too far and then goes back to whatever it normally sits at. another thing it didnt do before these dodgy faults.
ive tried squeezing the vac hoses but none of...
