Guess what started working today?
I put some towels around the horn so I could work with it and not feel pressured about the racket it finally disarmed with the valet button.
Its still a bit off though. Im going to have to find something to re-glue the antenna as I pulled it down to check...
If I can get this covered under warranty that would be great! I am right now just thinking that I can use this old one as a parts set as they seem to be selling these at quite a discount so now I see a 5901 model at a higher price.

I know that thing just doesnt want to come out. I have a special techique involving some screaming and good vocabulary along with a possible threat to crush the car slowly.
I had to do the passenger side of my car that was originally from pennsylvania. It was on there but good.
I just ordered a replacement unit for my 5900SST viper remote start alarm from www.audiodimension.com (I think that was the site)
I paid 290 for it new and they have it with free shipping for 172$

Well, I talked to DEI (viper) and the second I took it out of the box the warranty was void. She stated that consumer installed alarms are not covered even though this is in no way an install issue.
The alarm has been installed since April of 07. No issues other than the remote eats...
Its not looking good. I went under the dash no issues to see. The alarm refuses to see the remote. I cant get the valet button to disarm it either.
DEI tech told me to turn the key to 'on' and hit the button and turn it to 'off'. Well that sets the alarm off real nice.

What the previous poster said about the auto trans fluid is right on the money. It will whine off and on without using good ol auto fluid. I can tell you that if you still have bubbles it wasnt bled enough. Mine had bubbles for a short while and then went away. I flushed the res out and cleaned...
Its located in the same position as the old stock alarm on a bracket. Everything looks and feels fine up there.
I pressed the lock button a bunch of times to no use.

I would put this in audio but I really need help.
I had the Supra in the Garage for winter work. I backed it out Sunday to use the garage for other things. I armed the alarm and went about my business.
Now the remote will NOT disarm the alarm. There has to be a way to trigger the valet...
Im going to try some redline fuel cleaner and see if its gas related. Plugs and wires are good but the o2 sensor I got was the wrong one. Looks like I will have to order one online or from Champion.
I will try the rag test tonight.

I have a sensor on my water neck that has gone bad. I think its the cold start injector sensor (middle top with electric wires coming out of it)

Well I checked my turbo gasket bolts on the downpipe and they were tight. I swear my exhaust is leaking under the hood somewhere but I took a mirror and peeped all over and cant see anything. I am going to run cleaner through the system tomorrow and burn out this tank of gas with octane boost...
How can I check the EGR to see if its leaking? Why would it only do it under load and not when Im under the hood revving?
<Im not riding down the road under the hood. Its been done and Im too old for that action>

Nope the oil was dirty and had the same used smell as always. no fun stuff. It just started ticking about a week ago. You can rev all you want in park and neutral no tick. Put it in gear and you hear ticking under load its hard to track because it seems to happen when the car is moving.

Ok I am starting to go mad.
I had a heat issue in the summer where the trans hump seemed overly warm but manageable. I figured I needed a trans cooler or something to deal with that.
Well a couple of weeks ago when the weather changed my supra developed an odd ping sound that increases...
You guys with the AVC-rs How did you set yours up with Boost and Duty?
Im still not sure I did mine right. Im running .75 and I think 50% duty. It pulls and behaves but it hasnt felt right.

I honestly put mine in to lean on. I didnt want to lean on vulnerable parts when working on the car. Its so friggin low to the ground I get a crick in my back workin on it. (Of course now I realize that I have to pull it off to do 80% of the crap I put it in for workin on!)
