why do people use the word then in places where than is supposed to be used?

motherfuckers. :icon_evil

Confusing "A" and "AN" is another one that drives me completely batshit.

"I have AN Super-AFC for sale"

Ugh...

"A" goes before all words that begin with consonants.

  • a super-afc
  • a supra
  • a dumbass
  • a boobie
  • a big brown cigar

with one exception: Use an before unsounded h.

  • an honorable politician <--- like you'll ever use that
  • an honest error

"An" goes before all words that begin with vowels:

  • an asshole (People call me this all the time.. )
  • an eclipse
  • an idiot (because I call people this all the time.. )
  • an afm
  • an admin (is what I am.. )

with two exceptions: When u makes the same sound as the y in you, or o makes the same sound as w in won, then "a" is used.

  • a union run by communists (is there any other kind?)
  • a united front
  • a unicorn
  • a used tampon
  • a U.S. law
  • a one-legged woman (Her name is Peg...)

Why can't people get this one correct? It's so damned easy...

hold up, what IS the correct pronunciation of Greddy? and how about 5zigen?

If you want to get technical, 5zigen should be go-zigen since it's a Japanese company and go is 5 in Japanese.

I suppose you could say five zigen and be alright too, I guess...

People have an aversion to thinking and learning these days.

Here's one of my pet peeves. MKIII

People who pronounce it "Em K Three" really irritate the shit out of me.

MK has always been the abbreviation for "Mark" - (usually initial capital letter) U.S. Military. a designation for an item of military equipment in production, used in combination with a numeral to indicate the order of adoption, and often abbreviated: a Mark-4 tank; an M-1 rifle.

People, but especially Supra owners, saying Em K Three instead of "Mark Three" irritates the crap out of me.

Same here! My former roommate (the dumbass with the miata), when asking for bolts would always say " EM 8 EX 1 DOT 25 EX 20". I REALLY hate stupid people.
