why do people use the word then in places where than is supposed to be used?
motherfuckers. :icon_evil
Confusing "A" and "AN" is another one that drives me completely batshit.
"I have AN Super-AFC for sale"
Ugh...
"A" goes before all words that begin with consonants.
- a super-afc
- a supra
- a dumbass
- a boobie
- a big brown cigar
with one exception: Use an before unsounded h.
- an honorable politician <--- like you'll ever use that
- an honest error
"An" goes before all words that begin with vowels:
- an asshole (People call me this all the time.. )
- an eclipse
- an idiot (because I call people this all the time.. )
- an afm
- an admin (is what I am.. )
with two exceptions: When u makes the same sound as the y in you, or o makes the same sound as w in won, then "a" is used.
- a union run by communists (is there any other kind?)
- a united front
- a unicorn
- a used tampon
- a U.S. law
- a one-legged woman (Her name is Peg...)
Why can't people get this one correct? It's so damned easy...
