Whats the highest speed you have ever gone in the MKIII?(nws)

Buried pre 89 speedo. Still had a lot in it. It was a while ago, but I had 225/50-16 stock sized tires and stock 3.91 rear end, I believe the tach was reading close to 6k rpms in 5th.
With 255/50-16 drag radials I was hitting 120mph between 6-6500k at the top of 4th in the 1/4.

I only have a 180km/h speedo. I had it poined at the 7oclock position. Was doing about 150mph in my GT40 1JZ. it was still going, but I got scared, and backed off.

Car was rock solid at that speed.

The needle pointing to the B on the "Brake" warning light on the dash......estimated 175-180 MPH (288 kmh)!!!!.

This was in the Nevada desert, 7M, 60 trim TO4E, 275/35/18 wheels/tires and 3.91 rear end.

Noah, your Garmin was not wrong. My Garmin registered 358 mph one day.
It's only because of the satellite and the earth shifting, it's minor shifting to the satellite, but by time it reaches our unit, it's a huge jump...Hence the 300mph "Max" speed.

Which Garmin do you have, by the way?

The tracking speeds on those things are 100% accurate.
If you get different tire/wheel sizes and want to see how far off your speedo is, borrow someones Garmin...It will show you the difference. :icon_razz

i have the garmin ique3600. i don't use it all the time since it is also a palm pilot. i thought you looked at it in chicago. i do like it cause i can store the maps on sd cards and i can put a detailed map of any where in the world on it.

Speedo in stock 7m showed 145mph at 5000rpm in 5th gear. So like 100mph.:sarcasm:

$168 my county has standard price. I had to really do some talking to not get taken to jail...good thing I'm a good bs'r.

Fastest I've gone is 157 in the G35.

Adjuster - went at it w/300z on the way from OC to Vegas for at least an hour at 140 that was so cool.

As far as handling goes went around one turn warning sign @ 50mph and started turn at 95 was doing 110 at exit that was a blast.

How do you Bs out of that kinda ticket lol. I mean what do you say, you didnt know you were going that fast, you thought the speed limit was that speed....
