It feels great!!!! It's hard to drive in the city because when I accelerate, I just want to keep going but then have to stop. It's an automatic and I feel the biggest power difference in 2nd and 3rd gear.

When are you going to take it out of the city and open her up a bit???????

I know what you mean.

Try Break Boosting yet? :evil2:

I miss my Auto Setup.

But i got a great deal on a R154 and couldn't turn and down and I'm planing on doing some canyon time trails so all the more reason to go manual.

 Turbo Auto Supras the perfect DD.

another hint only run Toyota ATF, theres some addictive in the damn thing that makes it buttery smooth.

I was just making a general statement about disliking city driving. I don't live in the city so I have had the chance to open it up a little. I haven't taken it past 80 yet but I did get there real fast.:)

I do like auto's but would sometimes like to have a manual. I'm currently running the GE transmission that came with the car. I knew it worked so decided to put it in instead of the GTE tranny that came from the donor car. It's still sitting in the garage. I'm debating on whether to have it "built" or find another donor car cheap and do a manual swap. I'd be perfectly happy with a W58. I have no plans to push this car over 400 hp. My 85 Toyota had a W58 and it was silky smooth.

Haven't tried break boosting yet. I'll have to though.:evil2:

Patti.......What do you need done with your car? It looks rather good there. I'm assuming motor swap? Or, maybe Ken could strip those sawblades.

If you're used to a truck where you stop when the tires touch, you're gonna DESTROY your front bumper on a curb one day...

Yeah, I'm used to the truck that's for sure but don't you worry. In case you haven't notice my Supra is 4x4-ing so I've got plenty of clearence, I went and checked.:biglaugh:

BTW: The pic is from my cell phone and it looks like I've removed the stripes but they are still there...for now.

Ken I just spent the last few hours and read this thread from the beginning...my eyes are tired but here are a few thoughts.

Awesome job staying with it through the trials and tribulations, believe me I know how hard that can be at times, especially without a good local support network (thank god for SM huh?). You are doing the right thing taking it easy, ya just never know on a new car and you need to build confidence with it before doing anything crazy (not that you strike me as the crazy type).

Those stripes may come off with a heat gun if they are a vinyl base, or you might try using a good variable speed buffer and something like Mequires Diamond Cut to basically scrub them off. You can probably use the same process on that stuff on the front bumper. Other than that looks like you are well on your way to a nice example of a saved from the dead supra with the added benifit of boost. I know thats gotta feel good.

Take care of your back and do your physical therapy to minimize the scar tissue and you should be able to make a full recovery.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and congratulate you on a job well done.

Very good to hear from you Pete! Boost feels good...feels very good.

Thanks for the props and suggestions. My surgery was rescheduled for Tuesday morning unless they have a cancellation on Monday (tomorrow). After we get my neck fixed then it's on to look at my lower back. Can't wait.
