Nice job ken! You have brought the car along way since I first saw the pics of it! Can't wait to see it. I told you that I retired my old 88 and got a 90 right?

Well got me four new tires today. Yeah! I drove and rode so much better. Now it's just wavy and not harsh.

I narrowed down the spot in the wiring that's giving me fits. It is the CPS wiring again. Under the black tape between the plug and cps the wiring is bad. I don't have time to unwrap it and start trying to repair it right now since I need to take my son to his Dr. appt. Maybe after I get back.

Can you buy a new plug and wiring for the cps anyway?????

yes, the plug is the the same as the plug for the coil packs...

But, the issue on my old CPS was the wires where toast all the way into the housing and into the sensors... I had to replace it (new from toyota ~$500)

Ken, I have been told that the N/A distributor wiring is also the same. Check that out. If it's not, I think I have a bad coil pack I could get you some wiring from.

I've already used the distributor plug from my n/a harness (pre 89 will only work for reference sake) and spliced it onto my harness when I had problems the first time. I had an extra cps and used it because the wiring looked better than the one in it. The problem I'm sure is what Poodles was talking about. I think the wiring is going bad down into the cps itself.

I'll get it resolved one way or another. Just another gliche. When it won't start I just have to move the wires coming out of the cps and then it will.

Tomorrow I will attempt to get it to pass emissions. I really don't see why it wouldn't. New engine, catalytic converter, no trouble codes. But, after all, it's a supra which equals gross polluter.:biglaugh:

So like I said earlier, I went and got four new BF Goodrich Z rated tires for it and after leaving the shop I captured some video while driving down Hwy 199
Again, it's taken with the cellphone so sound is not optimum but you can hear the deep tone. It's rather loud inside the car too but for now I like that so I can hear the engine and keep tabs on it. Later when my confidence builds I will more than likely have a reasonator put on to help tone it down.

yeah, loud was great, but after spending a couple hours on a roadtrip it gets EXTREMELY annoying

Yeah and I anticipate that. For now if the engine misses one little bit I'll know it and it still beats the hell out of that open downpipe. Geez that was bad.:biglaugh:

Was just reviewing my video and there seems to be a audio/video syncing problem. Does everyone else see/hear that?

It feels great!!!! It's hard to drive in the city because when I accelerate, I just want to keep going but then have to stop. It's an automatic and I feel the biggest power difference in 2nd and 3rd gear.
