Ok, so I tried to do too much in one day and it has me stressed. I went shopping this morning, bought a battery, oil, transmission fluid, powersteering fluid, and some hose for the oil cooler. First I got the oil cooler hooked up. Let me say that's not as easy as it may seem. It was a bitch getting the hoses where they need to go and over the pipes. I then tackled the power steering hoses that came from the ge reservoir. I did some serious ghetto fabbing to get those bitches on. Then I went after the intercooler. I've got it mounted for the most part, just need to bolt down one more place. It would have been alot easier without the bumper on though. Then I connected my speed source hot pipe, again, not very easy. Then I tried to figure out my ic piping. I cannot for the life of me figure out how that damn hard piece of plastic piping goes through the fender and back around. I thought that was going to be the easiest thing to do today. Anyway, I was very frustrated.

I did put the battery in and hooked it up. I turned on the key and OH MY GOD! The Supermonitor came on!!! I was excited. So then I thought I would just bump the starter.....nothing but just a click behind the dash.:3d_frown:
That's when I called it a day. I have to work tomorrow, which is probably a good thing so I'll have some time away from that bitch.

The only thing that I did today that didn't give me any trouble was to put some oil in it. Now that was easy.:sarcasm:

Progress is progress! And hopefully you'll come back to it in a day or two with a fresh mind and no stress, and it will all fall into place (*fingers crossed*)

Here comes forcedtorque to attempt another rescue. It took me an hour in the cold, but I removed my bumper to get you this picture.

You need this bracket Ken, I'm not sure if you have it or not. It is placed all the way to the end of the panel below where the intake is. It has one bolt that goes into a threaded hole just above an unthreaded hole for a stabilizer.

And you want this end of your pipe to come around and go into the engine compartment. I have piping running in the way, so I could not mount it and let you see it like it should be.

What is too late to call you tonight. I have to go outside to talk on my cell, and I'm watching this New England Jacksonville game.

Just call me tomorrow at your leisure. If I don't answer leave a message and I'll call you back, I may be on a call.

BTW, I don't have that bracket. I knew that end goes into the engine compartment but I can't seem to get the dang thing turned right. It seems the washer fluid reservoir is in the way. I wonder if the GE one is different from the GTE for that reason. I have one to swap if I need to.

Thanks for taking the time to get those pics for me. You the man!!

you HAVE to unbolt that side of the bumper to get that pipe through...

the front bumper will flex enough to gt it in there, but without it you can't pop it in and rotate it into place...

Let's see, what all did I do today?

I hooked up the transmission lines.
Kinda sorta got some of the IC piping routed, have a question about that later.
Got the radiator, shroud and electric fan installed.
Figured out how the ecu went back in and got it installed. Still can figure out where the HAC goes.
Put the gear shifter back in.
Put the @#$%*(&^$ lower radiator hose on. Geez why was that such a bitch?
Ok, pictures

Ok question. Look at the picture and is that right? Am I going to have to cut a piece of that cover out or just remove it?

Just realized today that I need a gasket for that. I wonder how that'll cost me?

Hey got my first oil leak and the motor has never started!::w00t::
Just my drain plug. Should be an easy fix....should be.

Here's a pic of my working Supermonitor. :icon_bigg

Hey mate, awesome work!

Looks like it was a very productive day!!!!

Thanks! It kinda was.

You know the car IS ready to be cranked. Only thing that kept me from doing it today was that the starter won't turn over. When I hit the key all I get is a click from the passenger side kick panel area. I don't know if it's the alarm or what. I know the starter is good because it's the same one that was on my GE engine.:3d_frown:

What does the HAC sensor do? I bought one from a part out by accident. I told the guy I wanted the Hvac and he sent HAC so I have a spare one.

I don't really know what the HAC does, but your 89 does not need one. They were used on the 86-88, and the 89+'s are controled thru the ECU (I think).

Ken, I have Good News, Bad News, and some advise.

Bad news first.......I didn't get that bracket shipped today, work was insane.

Good news........I can now add that gasket you need into the box. I have one, but I couldn't see it costing a whole lot for a new one.

Advise......I don't think that pipe is installed correctly. First, It shouldn't come through where that lower panel is. Just above where your pipe runs, those two holes in that panel look like the two you will need for the support bracket. And, you piping looks a little funny inside the bay. I hope you don't have to pull the bumper to rotate it a little more.

HAC stands for High Altitude Compensator or at least I think compensator. That should be self explanatory.:icon_razz

Scott, No problem on shipping. I'm just thankful you're taking the time to do it. I'm not sure how else the IC piping could be routed. I started to pull the bumper today but had too many other things going at the same time. I pulled the side of the bumper out and it seemed to fall right into place. I don't know. I'll try other scenarios tomorrow.

You wouldn't happen to have one of those studs that I'm missing in that picture? If I go to the dealership, I'd have to order that seal, and I think you'd still have it here faster.

Now I've got to go search for some alarm disabling threads.

Maybe Poodles will post some advice also when he's online at 2:00 am in the morning. ;)
