the dampener isn't under much stress, I have two and they both feel the same...

try moving it fast and it will resist...

Well after seeing what they cost, I will be re-using the old one.

Another update for today.

I opened my front door to find a box of goodies from Elmhurst Toyota. It was the turbo coolant hoses and the block vent hose. It's amazing how soft it is. Anyway, I installed those items this evening and I can safely say that I'm pretty much ready to drop it in the car. BUT! First I have to either get off my ass and drop that diff in the blue car or just push it off the driveway and move the white car in it's place and worry about the diff later. I was under the hood of my 86.5 examining it and decided it should be rather easy, just time consuming, to pull the motor. I'm hoping to take out the GE and tranny, hook the tranny up to the GTE and drop in the car in one day. I might try that in the next week or so.

Well today I finally got that diff out. ::w00t::
It fell off the jack while lowering it too. Ouch!

I had to take the gas tank and exhaust off to get it.

Then I was finally able to move the car. This will be the first time it's moved since April I think.

White car has been sitting so long the battery was dead.

...and then finally got it moved. I pushed that blue beached whale all by myself. Now it's time to start working on the engine swap.

It is not recommended to use a GE tranny with a GTE motor unless you are staying stock forever.

I know my GE tranny is good. The GTE tranny sitting in the garage I have no idea so I don't trust it. I will have it rebuilt most likely and then put in the car. The GE tranny will suffice for now. And like I've said before. My hp goals are not that big. I'm all about cruising down the highway, not the quarter mile.

Poodles, why don't you just buy the whole damn thing when when I'm done with it?

And yes, we need to have a meet.

You have to be talented to kill an R154 (or just plain stuid or putting silly power down).

An update for today. Instead of doing one task at a time, I'm starting several. I don't lack much to have the motor/tranny ready to pull, just he exhaust and tranny mount. But I decided to go ahead and start on wiring harnesses. Oh and also, I put in a pre 89 voltmeter into my instrument cluster and then put on the brand spankin new lens cover.

I took the dash out of my dirty white boy today to begin the wiring harness swap out to accomidate my super monitor. I also swapped the harness that plugs into the instrument panel, radio, and a/c-heater controls. The reason: I couldn't stand the fact that the radio plugs were cut off and then respliced. It was way to ghetto.
