Isn't this Dec. 13? The thread starter hasn't been in this thread for four days now. He must not have read the rules for posting buildup threads. He must be using the same rules Dave is using.............:nono:

Sorry. I got called in for another flight today. Went to Houston and then El Paso and then Santa Ana California and then back to Fort Worth. This job pays the Supra needs so don't want to turn down any opportunities to fly. What sucks is that today was the first day in a while the sun came out and it was fairly nice outside. I work my regular gig at DFW tomorrow and since I work 24 hr shifts, it will be Saturday before I can get those seats in the car. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.:x:

God only knows when I'll get the engine pulled.:nono:

Ok, just one little bitty update. I installed the passenger seat the other day, That's all. The driver seat will have to wait unti I get some power back in the car and I'm able to move the current seat to expose the bolts.

Oh, and Tgood, the only time I've seen a good white fender, I bought and it's sitting in my garage. :icon_razz

Ken looks like the leather seats cleaned up well!! As far as pulling the engine goes you can do it yourself. I did have my brothernlaw around when I pulled mine but all he did was hold the back of the transmission to keep the engine/trans from swaying. Once I got the engine up far enough I just pushed the car backwards and set the engine down. BTW if you dont have a extra set of motor mounts I would be looking for some now because chances are good yours will come apart when you pull the engine.

Thank you.

I won't lie, taking all that apart and swapping the harnesses was a BITCH! But, if the supermonitor ends up working then it will have all been worth it.

Seats look good, but look like they could really use a cleaning...I would suggest buying some leatherique products. Cerrius Clean spray (this stuff will clean anything) and some rejuvenating oil/protectant...your leather will look brand new. :)

Well the "numbers" won't be that impressive. I'm keeping the car pretty stock initially. As the money allows, here's what I want to do.
1. Upgrade the exhaust beginning with a good DP, probably a BIC, since I hear so much good about them.
2. Upgrade the turbo to a 57 trim or maybe a 50 trim
3. Hard IC pipes. Right after Christmas, I'm going to order a speedsource hot pipe to go from the turbo to the IC. I'll later get some more hardpipes from the IC to intake. I'll just keep a stock IC.

Power goals are just to get as close to 300 HP as possible. I'm keeping the automatic. The motor was rebuilt with an NA head and cams, just because the GTE head/cams were trashed with massive corrosion from being exposed to the elements for so long, and it also has Titan MS metal HG.

I've mentioned my power goals before and have been somewhat laughed at. I don't care. I do not wish to impress anybody in the quarter mile. I'm not out to blow Honda's off the road. I'm in this for the driving experience. Supras were made to cruise and that's what I intend to do. Having a little extra "umph" is all I want. I'm one of the few who appreciates a stock supra.

yea under 300hp you should keep the stock reliability so that will be nice i read about your power goals erlyer in the posts i just didn't know if you kept them.... but wouldn't a upgraded IC be a good thing with the upgraded Turbo????

stock IC works fine up to 400HP...

though in texas it couldn't hurt, but you can't get the air any cooler than ambient, and when ambient is 100+ degrees it's kinda futile...

57 trim will support 400HP is you want to go that far, just opening up the stock exhaust and intake will make the car more responsive and a hell of a lot more fun to drive...
