This morning when I got home I got after it on the car. Swapping that main harness is a royal Bitch!!!! I had so much trouble getting the old harness out from around that blower housing. It was a little easier putting the other back in. I then put that big metal bar back in too. I stopped after cinching up all the nuts and bolts and plugging everything back in that I could find a plug for. I had a left over plug down at the passenger kick panel. I started a thread about it in the General section but I think I know what it is now. I believe it goes to the rear TEMS. The white car doesn't have TEMS so I have nothing to plug into it. So now I need to put the dash back in and plug all those wires in. It'll be Wednesday before I can attempt that. No pics right now. Maybe some later.

Scott I'll get you video here soon.:naughty:

Got the dash back in. Touched it up with some paint before doing so. It was discolored bad on top. Put the instrument cluster in too. Just for shits-n-grins I put some power to it. I don't have a good feeling after doing that:nono: Weird things happened, and supermonitor screen didn't light up. Didn't feel like taking pictures.

I am still very sad about the blue car:wtc: It tears me up to be tearing it down. But the good news is it will live on in the white car since it will have its motor, tranny (eventually), 3.91 diff and drive shaft, and complete MA71 body harness. Oh, it also has its original sawblades (yay, I think). My wife keeps asking me if I'm through with it so it can be hauled off or sold but I tell her no, even though I am, just so I can keep it around.

Stayed tuned for more episodes of my supra soap opera.

Nice progress you have here. Shame it took a few cars to get the one you're working with, but it's coming along nicely. Were those decals on the side and the rear a dealer option or some sort of package? I've only seen them on a few. The polished sawblades look good too, better than what was on it.

Thanks for the comments.
The graphics were an option from the dealer I think. There is a sticker in the passenger side door jam that discusses them but it is so faded out I can't see what it says. They didn't come from the factory. My car and Scotts parts car are the only ones I've seen with them. Sadly they are very chipped and faded and will come off when it's time to do body work. Yeah, sawblades are much better than what I bought it with. They are only stripped for now, not polished yet.

I hope to get some stuff accomplished tomorrow and I also hope to have a nice surprise by the end of the week.:icon_bigg

I've been flying all over the US today so no time for pics. I'm in Huntsville Alabama right now refueling and then heading back to Fort Worth. Pics on Sunday I promise. I have to work the regular job tomorrow.

EDIT- I'm back...Yay! Now I'm going to bed.

Ok, as promised here are some pictures of my latest aquisition for my car. They are still in the garage and not in the car because it is 32 degrees outside with a light mist. Tomorrow won't be much better. Just a couple of months ago I was bitching it was too damn hot to work on the car, now it's too damn cold.

The only thing different than what I was expecting was that the leather is not as soft as I had hoped for. So I have some Macquires leather conditioner that I will be applying frequently to hopefully soften them up some. I want to say thanks to reaperman for taking the time and effort to ship these heavy things to me.

So what do you think? Any suggestions on how to soften up the leather? I mean it's not like they are rock hard but I would like it a little more supple. I know I can't achieve Lexus quality. :icon_bigg

Ken there are a bunch of leather products on the market. I used this product on my cars in the past. Its good stuff!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Connolly-Hide-Care-Leather-Kit-cleaner-conditioner_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50450QQihZ002QQitemZ120192435311QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

If your looking to do anything else in leather here is a link. They can get our factory colors so it makes it really nice for matching. You can even buy extra leather from them to do inserts, headliner, ect.

Hey thanks Ryan! I added those links to my favorites for future purchases. Luckily my back seats, and all inserts are in very good shape. I'm excited that I have a complete leather interior now.

you need to give them a good cleaning with mild soap and water to get the gunk out of the pores in the leather (it's skin) and then use a conditioning product on it to rehydrate and protect it...

if you don't clean them first, the conditioner doesn't do jack...
