Good decision!
While it's easy to get caught up in the emotion of owning a particular car in the end it's just a car.
You could sink so much cash into repairing this one and end up with a lemon or look at it as a chance to correct any errors/things not to your liking and move on and end up with a better car.
Now and again you can end up taking just about a total loss (see pics of my Datto on page 2 of my pics thread) but that's part of the game.
You walked away from the accident and that's what's important.
