thermostat housing in with thermostat neck
head torqued down

valve covers on with new bolts and crush washers.

my question for the night is this though...

i can take my vavle covers back off, and undo the head, and then retorque them again and everything will be fine right?

been almost an entire month and i didnt even get that much done.... kinda sad.

vavle covers on. new shiny flange head bolts with loctite and copper washers under neath. put all of the timing stuff on, just need to go buy a new timing belt tensioner. my dad ordered my 100 new bolts that were flange head for the oil pan, and another 100 bolts for the oil pan that were hex head... so i now have 200 bolts that are m8 by 16... lol

exhaust manifold is on. none of my studs neeeded to be replaced, i first tested all of them to 38 ft lbs. and they all held fine... so there was no need to do any work in that aspect. intake manifold goes on today. just have to go buy new bolts and what not.

so more pics and updates later!

jesus... im horrible at updates. BUT. got tons of work done in the past week or two, lifes been busy, and this project car gets thrown to the back burner quite often.

I had my dad order me some vacuum lines through his work at an industrial supply type place, well, my RED vacuum lines turned out to be ORANGE. so thats kinda gay, but i have enough vacuum lines to do 3 or 4 cars... lol

Oil pan was put on today, i also had my dad order me these serrated flange head bolts, so that way they DIG into the oil pan and wont back off, i've been using them all over the engine, and they work GOOD. Went to autozone like 400 times in the past two weeks i swear. got some belts, slave cylinder, hoses, more hoses, hose clamps, hoses, some more clamps, stocked up on GC 0w-30! none of the green though, but whatever.

although the pics dont show it, i reorganized the garage so my engine hoist is in the front (towards my house/bench) ready to hook up to the engine, with the engine right behind it, and then the tranny inline with it also, it looks pretty neat. i'll take a pic or two tomorrow when i get up to clean my transmission some more.

hooking up my turboxs BOV wasnt too bad, but doing those god damn valve cover hoses and the one on the TB were beyond gay.... took me quite a few tries to get it how i like. but it all got on, and everything is good. i made my own BIG vavle cover breather hose out of a 90 degree bend and some straight 3/4'' hose we had... and i used a brass 3/4'' piece to 'splice' them together, i think it looks a TON better than the big ass loop-de-loop that the OEM was (and it was harder than a ROCK) so all of my lines are new, not OEM, but i like how they all turned out.

also forgot to mention, i made up some 'custom' mounts for my 14'' fan i got from here, only had to drill two holes! and it holds the fan slightly off of the radiator (it has button top screw anyways) so it wont trash my radiator! i just hope it clears the water pump pulley, because the fan is a bit on the 'chunky' size... lol i'll probably get a different one later on. and im going to purchse a derale adjustable fan relay for it from summit, but thats after i get the car up and running...

Well here are the pics, so enjoy!

Engine is in.... trans mount took me forever, i felt retarded doing it becasuse i had to take it off like 4 times... so far i've only connected up the fuel return line....

dropping the engin ewas fairly easy, i put the transmission on by myself, along with most of the dropping in, but i had my dad help half way through just because i couldnt watch all of the angles and make sure it went into the mount holes. and i also put on the speedo cable, and SS clutch line from DM.

tomorrow is:

Install driveshaft
Bleed clutch
hook up wire harness to the inside, and also connect up the rest of the stuff
back heater return hose (i totally forgot about it)
AFM and power steering res need to be put on.
attack power cables and make some custom ground cables so i can ground everything. i already made one for the coilpack.
wire up e-fan
order lower shifter bushing from either DM or local yota dealer
put oil, coolant, trans, power steering fluid in
install radiator
tighten motor mounts
cut exhaust since previous owner made it a full length 1-piece (wtf?) and order a nice 2'' or 2 1/2'' band clamp (since exhaust is going to go bye bye soon)

and then double check over everything and make sure its ready to fire up

then after all of that is done, im most likely going to sell it... why? because i need the money for when i move out and get a house. :3d_frown:

Replace the spring for pressure relief in the Oil Filter housing?

Looks good. Sorry to hear you may be selling, but that's life bud.

Thanks for inspiration, If you can put a motor together maybe i should get off my ass and finish my 7M so i can move onto my 2JZ.

order lower shifter bushing from either DM or local yota dealer
^Order that from marlin crawler. It's a way better option.

replace the spring? no... when i put it together there was plenty of force there.

my life and schooling comes before a car, and with me wanting to be a fire fighter, i HAVE to be on time and at class. none of this in the morning 'omg wtf is going on with my car!?!?!" hahaha

i've been slackin on this for a while now, so hopefully my way of doing things doesnt inspire you to be lazy also.

yota carries the same bushings, just have to have the right part number.
im gonna PM driftmotion and see whats up though.
