im pissed off though, because i STILL do not have my rods, not like it matters though... my build is set back at least a week if not longer.
although i did take my head to a guy to get my valve job done, so that'll be back on tuesday. haha

Well here is your update! and get on aim ya loser!
Received my eagle rods today. but im just like wtf to be honest with everybody... 3 of the packages were open, and 3 were sealed like from the factory... and after closer inspection of one of the rods, im not too sure how "new" these are, they have never been ran, but there are scratches that sure werent there when they were made... but there nothing like the scratches on my bearings! hahahaha
and why arent there any oil holes leading into the bearing section of the rod journals? im kind of confused on how oil is going to get to my bearings if theres no holes for them to travel. lol

i brought my head to a machine shop, wanted a valve job, was quoted 200. show up on tuesday, they decked it... my heart sank! and i was just like wtfffffffffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!
asked why they decked it... they said it was included... i was like... i didnt ask for it, why did i get it?
then i ask how much was taken off... he says 13thousands... im just like wtf.... i asked why so much, he said the center was low... i asked what he uses to cut heads with, he says a belt sander... no joke either, thats exactly what he said... so i asked what kind of "ra spec" does it hit? he said "whats an ra spec"... i was pissed. brought it home, checked it out myself, it was HIGH in the center now... about .0013 or so on each side, had two other machine shops look at it that didnt even do automotive work and they both were like WTF! haha... so i got my 200 back, and im getting another head...
this rebuild is bein hell...

im glad you have that kind of space, time and MONEY.
i've already spent 2500. which isnt much, but when your budget was 2500. and you STILL have to get all of your machine work done... its not pretty...

to me, its almost a tried and true setup. the probe pistons are new, but i have faith in them. Eagle rods have been around for a while now, and kwante pushed them more than i will in a life time... i hope it meets my expectations in the end...
chriso is the motha fuckin man! awsome deals, good parts, and he even gave me a FREE air/fuel blinkly light show gauge!!!!! omfgz!!! hahaha
but i did get a head for $100... needs cams... but whatever, its in better condition than the lost one i got...
also got a almost new coil pack cover, good spark plug wires, and the steering wheel cover things thati needed.
so a big THANK YOU to chriso... even though i had to wait 1 1/2 hours in front of his house staring at his two mk4's and his 90 turbo... but its all good, i got what i need finally!!!

update time again! gonna order new bearings tonight since there was a "mishap" with the ones i received...
got a perfect head form chris-o, it measures 116 on one side, and 115.89 or something rather on the other... so im VERY VERY happy with that. along with my awesome coil pack cover!
painted and shaved the valve covers, shaving was 100% smooth, but nobody will ever tell. painted the 3000 pipe, cam gears, alt bracker, ect ect ect... thinking of painting my transmission. hahaha
also ported the turbo + waste gate, along with smoothing the manifold a lot.

Went to the machine shop today to get the torque plate. thanks again nosman!!!!!
head looks BEAUTIFUL. didnt get a chance to look at the block... but judging from the look of the head, im sure its just as pretty!!!!
but ran into a big issue... the caps i kept from the OEM head of my engine... they dont match for a damn. there offset to the right by .5mm or so... its HUGE. you can feel that lip... so im finding caps that will work. already got one set from pick and pull... but i have little faith they'll work...

MINE! ALL MINE! HAHAHAH. I love ebay. and for 150. i couldnt pass it up... i stared at it alllll day yesterday and last night... and then i said to hell with it! i'll still have $39 left over once i buy it!
