beater = no go, i dont really enjoy having two cars, i enjoy getting very comfortable with just one.

DONE - Install driveshaft
Bleed clutch
DONE - hook up wire harness to the inside, and also connect up the rest of the stuff
DONE - back heater return hose (i totally forgot about it)
AFM and power steering res need to be put on.
attack power cables and make some custom ground cables so i can ground everything. i already made one for the coilpack.
wire up e-fan
DONE - order lower shifter bushing from either DM or local yota dealer
put oil, coolant, trans, power steering fluid in
DONE install radiator
DONE - tighten motor mounts

that that lower IC pipe is a mother fucker, especially since i didnt see how it was suppose to go before you take it off (had a friend helping out) so that was pretty funny to do. the back heater hose was easy with the 8mm socket and a 2ft extension. hahaha. driveshaft was a bitch, pretty sure i need a new center bearing (which im pissed about, but shaftmasters 2pc or 1pc here i come!!!)

gonna go buy some more new hoseing to run new oil cooler lines, and that p/s line from the res.

alt relocation you ask? why not! lol. when i bought it, along with the SS clutch line, i had intentions of going FFIM later... so i was like, hell, why not just grab up one of those brackets and move it lower, plus i like not having it up high, looks funny to me...

whats left:

Find o2 sensor connector (no idea where it is!!!)
AFM wire up and clamp down.
p/s res. clamp down
e-fan wires
starter cable and some other cables
upper IC pipe clamps
fluids
make sure i have gas! hahahaha
and lots of other little things that need to be connected and made!

now im off to my orthodontist for a check up cause of my surgery!

well it ends up i paid $1300 for a FUCKING OIL LEAK. i was pissed. 3 qts of oil wasted trying to track down a leak... ends up the asshole machine shop decided to leave out a galley plug (i didnt even want them to replace them) right above the oil return line... so yeah, trying to build oil pressure was ok, but it was shooting out all over my engine mount and oil pan...

but i got it plugged and everything is a ok, she runs like a champ, but im pretty sure the gas is bad or something, it'll run for a bit, and then randomly die! lol. but she fired right up when i hooked the igniter and efi fuse up, so that was nice to see. no oil leaks so far either, so im really happy about.

needless to say though, that machine shop lost my business.... whatever though, theres plenty of them here in central CA...

gonna go grab a big gas can and go get some 91 from the pump and toss that in before i start driving it around for real, and gonna take a look at my clutch pedal (too much freeplay)

i assembled the engine if thats what your asking, along with putting it in the car.

i paid 1300 for the machine shop to do all of there 'magic' the guy even made a point of "i had to order special block off plugs for your engine' which is what pisses me off. and the only reason i had the extra one was because i took it out of the oil pressure sender hole. i didnt realize it was a oil galley hole when i was putting everything on because he said he did them all, i just thought it was another bolt hole...

edited because what i said made no sense...

lol, i know... im not happy about that either... at least it had plenty of time to dry though... thank god for oil filters!

its ok though, cause my driveway has now been covered with oil, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid all in ONE day... today was just not my day with fluids.

and my new shifter bushing i got from toyota is a soft rubbery type, and it has as much play as the marlin crawlers... so thats a big plus! but the stock shifter needs to go asap...

well it was 'green' so im going to assume the green truck one... it was labeled as a sub-seat assembly hardware or something... i was like wtf? its the one in the 'common toyota part number' sticky thread...

A) It's NOT a freeze plug.... :nono:

B) If you assembled and fitted the engine it's your fault

Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

Did the machine shop fit the Oil pressure sender and Turbo feed?

Now you're running around "building motors" for other members.

freeze plug... oil galley plug... i know what i meant, and i know the difference.

so if the machine shop doesnt bore your cylinders right its your fault because you assembled the engine? if i pay for somebody to do there job, i expect it done RIGHT.

and im not 'building motors' for anybody... we were in discussions, but my life is too busy to take on another members project..

why does the turbo feed matter though?

and im going to go edit my post where i say freeze plug because it makes no sense where/how i said it... i need some sleep.

It's up to YOU if you're assembling/fitting the rest of the accesories to the outside of the engine.

It's very obvious that hole is tapped into the main Oil gallery as it's in line with the casting along the block.

Don't rant and rave about how bad the machine shop is when it's your own fault.

there were more than a few things about the shop that made me a little upset... but thats another time. if he hadnt made it a point to say "yeah im ordering you oil galley plugs" then i wouldnt have cared... i didnt even want him to take them out in the first place! but i guess its standard procedure...

im just happy i was able to fix it. :icon_bigg

EVERYONE fucks up shit happens I've lost count of how many times I've done dumb shit but you can't always blame someone else YOU assembled the outside shit just man up to it admit a mistake and move on.

One of mine was NOT checking the relief on a brand new hi pressure hi volume BBC Oil pump filling my custom 15 Qt pan with brand new Oil firing it blowing the O-Ring clean out of the filter and pumping 12 Qt's all over the floor......

I could have gone berserk blaming Melling Pump's the wholesaler anyone but in the end it was my fuckup...

IJ, i 100% agree... nobody is perfect. and maybe this time it was my fault. just wished it wouldnt have spilt so much oil! my mom was PISSED.

i've not put an oil filter all the way on, started the car and said goodbye to 4qts of oil... and thats my daily driver! haha

BBC in your 240z?

but on this motor i did make sure i had PLENTY of oil pressure, i did 30-40 second intervails to buil up the pressure, did like 3 in a row (after i fixed the problem) and the oil pressure gauge was reading between the bottom line and the first mark, so that was good. but i HATE the 90's gauges... theres NO lines, im so use to my 86.5... i feel so unaware of where its really at on the gauge!

Nah it was in a few cars I owned, at that time a 1972 Monaro (think Chevelle)

i love how the 'guys down under' get all of the different names... im suprised you havent built a skyline! with as many projects as you've had, figured you would have done one by now...

Our Monaro was a standalone product I just used Chevelle for a style/size comparison so you'd have an idea ;)

I have a few friends with Skylines and while they're a nice car and the tech is brilliant they don't really grab me all that much.

Might be different if I lived with one for some time but the Supra fits like a glove I've done so many miles in it.

i see.... sounds like a bun project, although i dont see you as a big block kind of guy...

thats like most of my friends have/had eclipses, and there nice, but i just dont feel like i 'fit' in one... just weird i guess?

supras are nice, i think of it like a japanese corvette (from the 80's)

check list for tomorrow!

vaccum lines for the shit over on the pass. side engine bay
make sure clutch pedal is all good
double check all fluids!
make sure everything is grounded properly...
maybe order my e-fan kit so im not worrying about my switch
go get a band clamp for my exhaust, although, its pretty freakin quiet with the cat being on there... i could sit by a cop and he'd be like "nice exhaust"
put my center console back in and what not...

and my idle was at 17in/mmhg when i was looking at it (at least i think thats what it was as, its a cheap boost gauge i bought a while back)

It wasn't your average big block ;)

Don't forget a couple of cans of degreaser to clean up the exxon valdez.

we use this stuff called 'awesome' and it works just like it sounds! hahaha, plus its from the $1 store! but the 'kitty litter' works pretty damn good...

anything involving the letters I and J just means 'excellence" haha
