No real exciting updates guys, sorry- I've been very lazy with the car lately.
I did reinstall the head with the new gasket, and found that previously, I had installed one of the cam seals with the lip folded over. Hoping that had something to do with the leak.
Also, I decided to have my injectors tested at FIC in FL, while everything was apart. They called me today, and said that they all flowed within 1% of each other with good patterns(@700cc), so they didn't recommend that I
pay for the full cleaning process. Very stand-up thing to do- saving me money.

I should get them back in the next few days, but it'll be at least another week till I touch the car again- have to go to NY for the weekend.

its nice to hear they do right by the customer and not jew us. so what did they charged then?

Yeah, you kind of have a good point. Adam- i award you no points!

They charged me $88 for flow testing, shipped. I think that includes new o-rings too.

So...the bad part of the story is:
I get home from NY, and there's no box of injectors waiting for me...
I call FIC, and they say that the tracking number shows that the injectors were delivered on the 24th. I doublecheck my front step, and garage door area, to make sure I didn't overlook the package, but no, nothing.
They tell me that the Post Office is going to question the actual delivery guy about the particulars of it, but if they end up missing, FIC will send me new injectors. Problem is- they can't source original Denso's for plug&play.
They'd have to send me FIC's with adapters. Not the end of the world, but I really wanted to run the Arctic Cat Denso's, so that I could claim to be the only one. :(

That sucks. I know I always have really bad luck with the postal service and packages. I hope its just a mix up somewhere and you get your injectors.

A big thankyou to Fuel Injector Clinic of FL, for being so stand-up in their customer service:

My injectors went missing in the return mail(as I mentioned), and the owner of FIC(Yenz, I believe?) said he would send me a new set of their injectors + adapter plugs free of charge in a couple days.
Bear in mind- He had ZERO responsibility to do this- it was simply on the Post Office to honor the $200 insurance coverage(which wouldn't have covered the replacement cost, most likely).
The good news is, that about 15 minutes after I got off the phone with him, a neighbor from way back in the neighborhood stops by and says- "Hey- I think this is your package. It got sent to my house by accident".
So I called back to FIC to let them know, and to thank them for their offer.

Now it's time to put this motor back together.

Good to hear.

The post office screwed me out of the first doward bbk adapter kit I ordered. They delivered a torn, empty box, then wouldn't refund me short of going to court over it because I couldn't "prove that the missing item was worth what it was insured for." (Can you believe that shit?)

Paypal receipt showing what I paid wasn't good enough for them, along with every other piece of documentation I had... so I just avoid using USPS whenever possible after that fiasco.

That's ridiculous right there- That's the whole purpose of buying shipping insurance!
Anyway- Got the injectors/ rail back in, along with a few other things, but quit for the day, since I realized that I needed a new EGR pipe gasket, so I just ordered one.

Not far. About three hours' labor. I'm just waiting on that egr gasket.
Then I just have to reinstall the intake, upper ic piping, and coil set, etc. etc.

Lol.
So, good news and bad news: I put everything back together, primed the oil system, primed the fuel, and it fired right up, no leaks(so far), and idled pretty smoothly.
The bad news: I started cleaning up and re-organizing my tools, and came across an O-ring I didn't recognize...then it hit me-

Yup, the compressor cover seal. LOL. okay, so that's not terrible news, but now I have to tear a half dozen things apart to install it.

Can you pop up a photo of how you routed that (just a top view). I'm curious how you made it work. I have the same intercooler setup (sans crossover pipe... because its bent wrong), so I get asked a bit for how to do it, but I haven't figured out a way to route that. The rest is all good.

I routed it exactly as per the Driftmotion setup was designed to be done. The only mod I did to the top pipe, was to cut about 1.5" off, where the pipe meets the throttle body.
The lower pipe was actually lengthened about 2.5", where it meets the compressor outlet.

I'll snap a couple pics today, though.

Here's my car in 5 different colors. I rolled it out of the garage to clean all the dust off, and fill the cooling system.
