Don't know if the headers would cause the reason to run a higher octane. I think the higher compression and the advance in timing would cause the need to run a higher octane. I've always run at least 91 from stock to this rebuild with 10.5 to 1, couldn't say that when I put my headers on that it was a need to run the 91, could be and I would like to hear a reason for it for future referenceMa70.Ent;1023501 said:Oh I just remember cuel telling me he had to run higher octane when he put his headers on.
