It doesn't have the shear strength to work as an engine Oil but for some reason works really well to degunk a motor if used as I described! (been doing this for many years)

Good time to go over every nut bolt clamp and check em as things do settle/come loose!

Just do a quick check over as many as you can and keep an eye on them for a little while!

My AirCon Compressor bolts came loose last time I was on the dyno so this time EVERYTHING got loctited! ;)

if u dont mind, how much do you have invested in that supe? looks like you could spend more in one day than i have on my whole car put together, purchase price included. lol

took it out for another spin on plain water in the system and it did fine. one local parts shop had several coolants but no red. they had a clear though...he said it was compatible with everything but..whatever. i'll call around and check toyota's price if i can run by there. if not i'll have to use the green.

who wants a huge picture writeup on this crap? (i say crap because the BHG shouldnt have happened in the first place...thats the only reason.) I'm so glad it's overwith. i think i'm going to go out again in a few minutes because i can't stay away. once i get coolant i'll give a few lady friends a ride...before the BHG i wasnt legally allowed to drive people around. now i can so it should be nice.

so yeah...if anybody thinks i should make a thread in the build area about this i can...i might do it even if nobody says anything since i guess its good for the DIYer. i had to remove some pics...plates werent blipped and i dont want some freak that isnt a member seeing them. sry. back up sometime... i have to go fix them first.

It looks to me like you handled the write up already this thread was perfectly put together and anyone who reads it and has bhg will be able to follow, you guys know I have been working on mine and I have it stripped down to block. I have been using a dremel to port and polish the air side of the engine. I have also done the exhaust manifold. I am almost ready for installation, well, I have to order a few parts first.

cool. good luck.

assembling cams onto head before or after head placement?

dont forget to look for gasket rivets and plan your entry so its free of cables and hoses. if you can try and install the intake manifold before dropping in the head. i believe this made it somewhat eaiser for me. and dont forget the fuel support. the rear zigzag fuel delivery pipe can be a PITA but if you have a helper its not too bad. and if you are using the sealant as per the TSRM states on the block, dont forget it! i did and had to lift the head and hold it with a long stick across the fenders, using a rope to hold it up while i squirted a fine line of sealant in. much eaiser if you can do this before dropping the head as long as you don't let the RTV dry up.

i was thinking of a write-up because i have more pictures and also there are two threads instead of one. let me know if you have any questions. i'm not in any means a pro but i've just done it so if anyone wants specific procedure tips i might be able to help.

::w00t:: ::w00t::

dad just brought home 2 containers of toyota red!! wahoo!!! also got a big container of distilled...so now i pleanty of fluids for probably two changes....pure water in system right now still looks a bit murky though so i'm flushing it at least one more time and then starting with the new red. then someday i'll get a new water pump maybe incase the green ruined seals. but i guess it would leak if it did eh? we'll see.

i wonder if my car is worthy for a road trip.

i explored the power of my car and its very suprising...i have never experianced a turbo so i bet they are nuts...but at full throttle this thing pulls like crazy...before it was ok...but you could definatly feel the car's weight as a hindrance...now its kinda like...woah...ok i should be more careful now. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: i havent ever raced so i dunno how it will do but i wont ever race on the street anyhow and i MIGHT go to the strip once.... but its nice to know the power is back! i wonder if my compression increased and maybe helped since i had the head surfaced. i dont know enough...probably just cause the fastest car i've been in is....mine! lol

I can see a wright up on this thread. You used the bolts didn't you. I am going with the ARP studs. i am rethinking the 2.mm beaded. I am liking the sound of the 1.5mm a bit better I believe. I'll discuss this with my machinist.
