I'm sorry Scott, but I can't keep the riffraff out.............:biglaugh:

Houston, we have a problem!!

It seems that my water pump has blow'd its wad. I filled up the radiator and the water is coming out of the weep whole just as fast as I put it in. Luckily the good people at www.driftmotion.com has one they're willing to part with and they're going to have mine rebuilt. I'm going to go ahead and crank it with it leaking so I can find any vacuum leaks or other leaks, but I won't be able to drive it very far with it spewing water everywhere................

O.K. I'm back. I have to replace my brand new starter because for some reason it only cranks when it wants too. It's under warranty though.
I disconnected my coils so I could turn the motor over (efi fuse is in the fender well) without it cranking to get the oil everywhere that I needed it. I hooked the coils back up and turned the key over.........vroooom. Very first try it cranked and purred like a kitten for about two minutes and then shut off. I couldn't believe it started up the very first try. I uploaded my new timing map to it before I tried, so it could have helped some. Now it revvs up and down, up and down, up and down, I'm sure you get the picture. I'm going to remove the water pump tomorrow and send it on a journey across America. Hopefully Aaron will send me the one he has tomorrow so I can get on with the getting on. I've got a lot of tuning to do but it seems like the car is about ready to drive right now. Just thought I would check in with an update. Now I've got to go feed my belly.

Vacuum leak FTMFL. Sounds like what you have judging by the surging idle. And it sucks that the water pump decided to pop its little diaphram cherry :( Oh well, hopefully you will have the new one soon enough. The starter won't take no time or money it sounds like since it's still under warranty. Whew! Other than that, sounds like she's ready to lay down some fresh rubber! After a VERY IMPORTANT break in of course!

P.S. I may be dropping my motor back in here in the next couple days, maybe even tomorrow!!! Waiting on a coil and water pump pulley that I just ordered today to get here, so it will be the weekend or Monday before I try to fire her up.

It undoubtedly doesn't since it made it back from Texas without either..........:biglaugh:

I don't know what I've got planned Keylan, but if you need some help, give me a call, and I'll try to find you some..............:biglaugh:

If I'm not working this weekend on a deck then I'll be glad to help you.

Thanks for the toe crossing. Most people will cross their fingers for you, but it takes real dedication to cross your toes for someone...........:icon_bigg

BJ, hopefully next year I'll make it to Texas again. It was a long trip this year, but it really wasn't all that bad since Ryan helped with some of the driving. I don't thing Ryan is going back next year though. I may have to take my wife...........:biglaugh:

I've got the old starter off and the old waterpump off and ready to ship out to Aaron. Hopefully everything will be back on by the middle of next week, and I can start playing with it. I've still got to find out why the revvs are up and down, but I'm going to retrace all the vacuum lines and make sure they all have zip ties on them.

Mike, it was only at idle. I haven't got to run it very long since my water insisted on running out. I hope to have the waterpump soon, so I can start fixing whatever problems present themselves. As of now, the idle is the only one I've found.

Mr. Kabani, I hope you have your car ready by then, and I hope I have enough money saved up to make the trip again. It cost me a little over a thousand dollars this last time, not including the money spent on the engine problems.

Well, it's actually done. I'm breaking it in at the moment. But ya never know when something comes up to ruin your day.

I don't think I have EVER driven this easy before. She is built to do the nasty, but I can't enjoy it for another 600 miles or so.

Good luck brother. Have you seen Ken's car lately............

That is one sexy ass'd red car. Luckily for you, you're painting yours blue. That's going to be your ownly saving grace. His car is very likely to be ROTY material.

What's up Jay? Been tryin to keep up with your build progress when I can get a spare min to read, hope it's coming together like you planned. As for my money pit in addition to having to buy a new tank and fuel line/filter, I went standalone since my ECU decided it wanted to be in Heaven more than it did with me..
