Thanks for the comments guys. I was starting to think I'd have to make a wax turbo or something to get some traffic over here or start calling myself the other Dave.............:biglaugh:

Ryan, I was only playing. You know only hot bikini models come in for mamograms..........:naughty:

If that were true, Jay would be in a different career field ;)

I'm having to write this in red so Ryan can't see it. He's got that whole gay blue filter that doesnt' see red. Jdub, we both know it isn't really like that, but I can't be crushing Ryan's fantasies so I just play along. Please don't post anything of the contrary unless it's in red..........:biglaugh:

Ryan, Vonda said yesterday she had two sets of identical blonde twins that came in for their exam. They had just got through shooting a layout for Double D magazine...........:naughty:

I'm not used to shiny pistons, I've only ever seen ones with carbon all over them :biglaugh:

Lookin' good Jay, can't wait to see what the new and improved 1.5JZ will do :)

I'd never heard of that Red, but it's not too late for me to do something about it. I have a Dremel tool and lots and lots of sandpaper. I've already taken the pistons to the machine shop, but they're only thirty five minutes away and I'll be going by there monday to take care of this.

Why hasn't anyone else suggested this? Are you the only one that's ever heard of it?

Hmmm, sounds a little out there. Perhaps it could help, but i would like to see some solid proof and proven results.

It's a pretty common practice. All of those little edges become hot spots, increasing your chance at detonation.

Detonation? We will have no detonation going on in this engine. That's why I"m only going to run 6.5:1 cr...........I'm not willing to risk it again. I may run seventeen seconds flat in an 1/8 mile, but I will get there eventually and my motor will have all of it's pistons in tact.

Thanks for the info on the pistons. I"ll be going to birmingham next week with dremel tool in hand.

I did my 7M pistons with sand paper, I thought the Dremel was a bit much. Food for thought

lol. Larry at ENDYN is just one of the best/most trusted engine builders out there. He's know to make good reliable power and knows many tricks. He's worked for more than a few race teams.
Take a look here http://www.theoldone.com/about/default.asp
I would trust him.

And Jay, i would be kind of scared to use a dremel myself as well. I would probably leave that to a professional with a very steady hand like someone who has been porting heads for years. lol..Sand paper and elbow grease is a little more safe for me.

Thanks Mark and Eric, but let me remind you guys that I am a trained professional...........just not at using a dremel on pretty, shiney, pistons.

I'll use some sandpaper and I'll stop by WalMart and get a bottle of elbow grease. Hopefully it's on sale..........:biglaugh:

IJ, just for the record, I do check in on your thread from time to time, but I hardly ever understand what you're talking about. Sometimes I think it's the Australian accent, but other times, I'm pretty sure it's my lack of edumacation.
