Cy....I have a spare heat shield for the manifold if you want to use both....I also have the turbo heat shield...you have to remove the turbo to install the other shield. If you want them let me know.

Thanks for the offer, but i have both, i forgot to put the right one on before the turbo:nono: I will probably pull the turbo and put it on there

well ig ot the timing belt on today and got nothing but bad news. Cylinders 2, 4, and 6 have a lot of compression leaking and i can hear it coming right out the exhaust for all three. I dont even know what to do from here, looks like the head is coming off again....
The head was rebuilt 2 years ago (have reciepts) and hardly run after that by automotive machine of scottsdale. I also hand lapped all the valves and found them all to be seating properly, im at a loss right now. Looks liek this project is far from over.
Timing belt is dead on time, observed valves as i rotated the engine and they are all closing 100% without the cam holding anything open (still have clearance).
Any reccomendations? My biggest worry is having my perfect head surface ruined by a machine shop when i take it to them. I drove all the way to california and back twice just so i could have the proper finish on my head, and i dont want a gouge to ruin it!

yes, everything was done 100% to specs. I even followed ARP's multi torque process in sequence. This whole build was done 100% the right way which makes it hurt more when something like this happens.

Well i finally got everything squared away. I found that the machinist had gotten some small chips from the head resurface stuck down in between a couple valves and their seat. Took the head apart, cleaned it all out, lapped the valves all again, replaced the seals again and pput it all back together...

Took the long weekend to swap it all in. All in all it was very successful. Not a single leak! Engine runs very smooth and pulls well. Heres a bunch of pics.

Thanks for all the comments! The wheels are 17x9 +24 offset all around. And yeah im still on the stock NA W58 and 4.3 open differential haha. With the new tires i dont have much problem with wheelspin (though i have not tried launching it). Next upgrade will be an LSD.

Looking good! How did you get the bits and pieces like the thermostat housing so clean? Are they painted or just a lot of elbow grease? What wheels are those, I really like the look!

I actually sandblasted everything, and then painted it with silver engine paint. If i just left them bare they would end up getting dirty really easily, the paint keeps everything clean it seems.

Did you end up using select fit or aftermarket bearing?
I used OEM select fit bearings

Motor has about 6k miles on it now, i just ordered a 57 trim ct26 i plan to swap in shortly. Also looking at an inter cooler/piping upgrade along with supporting fuel mods/tuning. Going to do one thing at a time though, the costs add up quickly!
