dude, they ALL look like shit when the come over on the boat. I cleaned mine for 3 weeks straight to get it into the condition it is now. I now get more compliments on my clean engine than my paint.

After 3 weeks of cleaning with a stainless steel wire brush, wax, and polish:

oh, here is another tip. Since you have the version 1 turbo pipes... you'll also need to remove the heat shield on the abs lines, and move the all the lines up to the next bolt hole. You can see how I moved it in my 3rd engine picture. This is of course if you have abs...

remove the temp sensor and clean it off. My had a little mountain of dirt on it... take a picture of yours...

Gap your plugs to .026.

Check for cracks in your Coil packs. Pull the little spring out and make they longer/stiffer. Apply Cramolin contact enhancer and replace springs. Also use the contact enhancer on ALL of your plugs.

Are you going to extend the harness or run it through the driver's side?

will check the temp sensor

thanks for the plug gap bit. didn't know you could use the ones from the 7M

there is a spring in the coil packs?

i will check it out. and do what you said

BTW you have a wicked and clean engine bay. There is almost no clutter. did you remove some of the options or can you really install the 1J with almost nothing showing like that?

I have everything in there... Aaron and Jose did a nice job re-mounting the hydro fan and PS resevoirs, I mounted the Ignitor against the back of the fuse box. It really cleaned things up... especially getting rid of those hideous TEMS covers.

Oh and lot's of polish and waxing the underhood paint.

Looking good Mattjk. I wasn't talking about how dirty it was when I said I hope mine looks better, or whatever I said. I was talking about the missing pieces and broken pieces. I'm hoping I don't have to go start looking for pieces to replace what is sent to me. I think Aaron will have my back if I do need something.
Are you going to go single turbo, or are you staying twins? I ordered a ypipe combo from Kyle, and I still plan on going single when Aaron gets throught with the manifold. I have a new turbo that I want to put on there. Just thought I would ask about your plans. Thanks again for the help..............

Sorry for the hijack Josh................lol

well Today i have been just doing some little things. Like disconecting the Hydro fan and the associated lines. same for the PS resivoir.

I am wondering though. all those hard lines that are under the bumper. do you need to move those as well

The wiring is starting to confuse me. Do i have to move all the wiring from the clip? some of it goes under the front quarter panel.

There are some wires like the one for the rad temp sensor. What does everyone do to integrate this into the MA70

Man for someone like me with not to much experience this is one hell of a big task to tackle.

I will take some pictures tomorrow.

Got the nose piece off. Another PITA, but i broke the two bolts that hold it at one end. I'm glad it was only the one from the clip and not from my car.

someone please give me the low down here. I have looked at a few sites and don't remeber anyone metion these things.

Plus if you have to move the hard lines for the PS and hydro Fan. How the hell do you get them into your car? there is no hole on the Drivers side to run those lines back to the PS Pump. Does everyone just make custom lines to make them work?
