While everybody's out whoring around, I'll give a little update.

I did receive my parts in the mail from Champion Toyota. Thanks Jeff! Seals and headgasket kit. Now I've just got to find the strength to get after it.

Since I use my thread to kinda blog, I'll update on me too. I had an MRI done today on my lumbar spine. I layed in that stupid tube for almost 45 minutes!
My surgeon will read it Wednesday. I seem to be having continuing issues with leg weakness, "buzzing" sensations in my thigh, and numbness to my scrotum and inner thigh if I sit or stand too long.

I really want to get started on my car but I'm kinda skerred to tackle it right now. Bending over the fenders is pure torture for me but I damn sure don't want to pay someone mucho dollars to pull and do it for me. Needless to say, the car may be sitting for a while. :/

Hell, if I was close, I would come and offer my assistance... All I am good for though is holding tools... But I have been told that I am real good at it :D

So is Ken going to Austin Hill Cruise?

Most likely not...well not in the supra anyway.

Hell that would be beneficial. I could lay under the car and have someone hand me tools and not have to keep crawling out from under it to get something. Doing that kills my back. Thanks though. :icon_bigg

Love the new avatar Ken! Glad to see the wife never aborted my baby

****EDIT****

That bitch that totaled the grey car is finally out of jail?????

Maybe the people in my avatar know her. They're both drinking Colt 45. :biglaugh:

So I decided to go and drive the damn car today. I drove it out to my other house about 20 miles away. Damn it drives so nice!!! I needed to go get something out there. Of course coolant was dripping from the reservoir.

I did discover my fan clutch just about has no resistance to it all. It will almost free spin. I've got another laying around out there that came off my 86.5. It's got plenty of resistance.

So somebody answer me this. I have searched but have been unable to find how much PSI the radiator cap is SUPPOSED to be. The one I replaced was aftermarket and 14 psi. The new one (not toyota brand) is 13 psi and it's made a helluva difference in how fast the overflow reservoir fills up. Used to take a few hundred miles to fill up, now just takes less than 50 miles.

OK... bad fan clutch could EASILY cause an overheat situation. The Turbo fan clutch is a lot more beefy than the N/A fan clutch, but in a pinch you can use it. Have you done a compression test yet? Might not be the headgasket... Oh, and on the radiator cap

I couldn't read the one Poodles posted so I have the link right here, but it saids between 10.7 and 14.something. so 13lbs was the correct answer. You see Scott, we're not so square after all.

I also agree with Poodles on the weak ass'd fan clutch. The thing probably isn't turning at all or not enough to cool the engine.

The only time my car has actually overheated is when it ran out of coolant. What does strike me as curious though is that the temp gauge is always right at the halfway mark. Today I noticed it fluctuating just a little to half and then back to 3/8 or where ever normal is. Of course it was only in the low 60's here today. I think I'll swap those fan clutches tomorrow more out of curiousity than anything. I'll see if I can find a radiator pump tester thingy too to see if it holds pressure.

Poodles and Alabama squared...thank you.
