As for the top radiator support. I put a different radiator in my 73 whehn I did the 20R conversion and left that top piece off entirely. I soldered some brackets to the sides of my radiator to bolt in the stock holes. Never replaced the support and never seemed to be any issue that I noticed.

I was going to leave it off at first but after a little thinking I figured it would be best just to keep it in place because I have no way to get brackets to hold the radiator and the radiator is not in the stock location. It has moved forward about 3" I believe. The sides that the headlights bolt to were pretty flexible on my car so I figured it would be best to leave it on because of the additional power and everything. I just hope I will be able to get all of the air out of the system

Looks to be a very tight fit. A FFIM would help a little on your IC hardpipe situation. You realy don't have much room for a filter do you. I think someone makes a cheepo copy of the hks filter.
Ebay clone.

Another one cheeper.

Just remember the REAL HKS filter wasen't all that great, but it will work in the limited space you have.

Thank you! I think Im going to buy one, it may not filter that great, but hey, I am not putting a ton of miles on this thing or driving down dirt roads or anything.

"Looking great man.

Here's what I was thinking.... **obviously not to scale**"

Thanks for the drawing! looks pretty good actually. I was going to do the thing around the radiator cap, but I just didnt know if it was worth the trouble or not, reason being that the cap is not the highest point in the system so I really have no buisness taking it off.... idk. I might still do it though, I already have the pieces made. :)

Looks awesome.

PS- The exhaust piping- I don't remember if you mentioned modification to it in previous posts,
but are you going to cut the DP and raise it a bit? Looks like it is WAY below the frame rails right now.

The downpipe has a flex section in it and if I push it up I can basically just get the whole thing to damn near rest on the floor. I still need to find a way to get 3" pipe to cross over and find a good sounding muffler that is relatively quiet, but not too quiet. I dont a big apexi N1 or anyhting, too noticable, just a muffler with a 3" pipe would be just fine, I just want something that sounds good without being overly noticable.Suggestions anyone?

people think I am odd for this but I really liked my Flowmaster 40 on my 7M. Nice deep sound without being droning and not ricey at all.

I have one of the 3" in dual 2.5" out Magnaflows and it sounds great at idle and good while boosting, not much drone to speak of at cruise, but I think it sounds just a tad ricey when accelerating off boost. Isn't very loud though.

I found another problem last night...
I will not be able to mount the intercooler as low as I expected to. The factory bumper mounts (shocks) are stopping me from lowering the intercooler enough to clear the center piect under the grille.

I found some square tubing in the garage that is about 2.5 wide and 1" tall, I think it would be a good replacement for the factory mounting and yet would still offer *some* protection in the event of a crash.

I plan on cutting the mounting pads off of the end of the celica bumper shocks, and welding them onto the ends of the new bumper mounts I will make. That way I will still be able to unbolt the bumper if I need to....

I'll take a bunch of pictures tonight while working on it, I may need some help on this one...

Ok.... I worked on the car literally all day yesterday... Here is what I accomplished!

-Cut bumper bracing.
-Made up newbrackets to hold bumper.
-Painted them for protection.
-Bolted bumper onto car.
-modified front radiator brace....again
-Install battery box and install carpet, trunk area now finished.
-Removed old rubber fuel line and filter, plugged.
-Took 8 3/4 axle to a friends to have the brackets plazma cut off.
-Laid out and tightened down all intercooler piping and BOV, it turned out pretty good.
-bent dipstick tube for clearence of IC piping.
-installed driftmotion ss adapter for oil pressure sender for autometer sending unit (oil press).
-Cleaned out passenger area and vaccumed, ready to reinstall carpet and seats.
-Cut the accordian hose intake to make air filter fit.
-Installed IAC valve hose to accordian pipe.

I am sure there is more stuff too... but it was a long day haha.

Who wants pictures?!?!

Please tell me you arent using those cheap rubber elbows from your intercooler kit on there. Those things suck and wont hold much boost. I used a set like that for mockup as well but when it came time to actually run the car they were replaced with real silicone couplers.

Picture updates....

p1086441_1.jpg

everyhting is in and it runs pretty good, haveing a problem with the bov so I will have to use the stocker for now.

p1086441_2.jpg

Hood clearence is realllllly tight.

p1086441_3.jpg

Intercooler is hidden pretty good.

p1086441_4.jpg

Intercooler sticks out the bottom slightly, but most should never notice it. I am going to cut a hole in the front of the bumper there for air flow... also shouldnt be tooooo noticable. suggestions? I already started cutting.

p1086441_5.jpg

Interior is in.... I need a new drivers seat.... or seat covers lol.

p1086441_6.jpg

Interior back in....

p1086441_7.jpg

I hate this interior color sooo much

And now for the moved shifter I was worried about

It looks like the shifter is hitting but it actually isnt, it worked out pretty good.

I just had to slide the shifter boot down so it didnt stretch out too much. I am just going to leave it like that I guess, I would rather not cut it up.

Looks good bro. Maybe you could put in a wire mesh screen in the hole in the bumper to make it less noticeable.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

Motor looks right at home in there. Great job on all of it. Now get us some video of it driving :naughty:
