Awesome stuff man, hope it all works out.

On a side note...I believe you said you're putting a gt3788va in? If you find you want better control over the vanes, Fleece Performance makes a standalone controller for it. IIRC, you just need to wire in RPM, boost, and TPS plus power to it...they give you software for mapping out the position.

Nice. I'm hooking the 3788va up to my 2J over the winter, but had it upgraded to a 68mm compressor, ceramic coated hot side...I'm trying to get the vanes coated too >D

Yup! I've tried playing around with megasquirt before, but I'm not a programmer...makes the head hurt. Maps and basic stuff is one thing :p I also looked at using something like the AVCR...but I couldn't find anything concrete saying that it could control it properly. The PWM frequency specs didn't quite match up either.

Between water/meth and the ceramic coating, I'm hoping to keep the EGT's down and temp handling good enough to make it long-term reliable at ~26-30 psi. This is your thread though...I'm at the start of getting stuff together for a pretty good writeup once I get things together.

I'm pretty interested to see how your build turns out, that 4.2 should just about be making boost at idle :p Eaton, eat your heart out

Very nice build! I have just read pages 1-30 and 41-42. I'll finish later.

I have a totaled 2005 Trailblazer under a carport in my yard. I'm slowly parting it out, and have dismantled almost all of it. I still have a blown motor with all wiring. The motor is still in the truck with the tranny, but many accessories have been pulled to try to sell. This thread is motivating me to hold onto this stuff rather than sell it for dirt cheap prices trying to get rid of it. One day I may attempt to do this as well. But, I'm sure if anyone tried, they could probably pry it all away from me.

Has there been some change in your photobucket since this started? It tells me I need a password to view.

Buy my '90 supra and swap it in!

Hmm, got set to private somehow. It's open now, though.

I remember coming across the build YEARS ago when you had JUST started it. I was searching for something Land Cruiser related. Dont rememeber what.
But i DO remember thinking "VERY COOL idea, but i doubt it'll go anywhere" HAHAHA. Im glad i was wrong. I read through all 42 pages intermittently this morning. Very informative info and ideas!
Quick question: on the maxima fans, the 4 wires to each motor... Ive seen that before and always assumed it was high speed/low speed circuits?? Is that what it was or did you find something else?

Lol, yeah I've heard that a few times. After I dropped it in the first time, I was ready to throw in the towel. Then someone gave me the idea to drop the crossmember, and I was off and running.

Yep, high and low, but also redundancy. I stared at the wiring diagram for possibly hours before realizing this: Any one component of the cooling fan system can fail and have zero effect on the overall cooling capability. Brilliant.
