Scotty,
We left the seats in to simply assist Joe in welding the bars in position so they would not interfere with the rear seats and because I have no plans in removing them. My goal is to see how close I can come to running 10s just the way she is. I am also going to put the front ones back in that weigh 70 lbs a piece. Drive her to the track (60 miles) away, drive her home. Spank a few Corvettes and Rustangs along the way and at the strip. I suppose if I can't break that magical number, we may try a few runs with her stripped. Last year I was a complete novice, we were only at 21 lbs of boost, no 2 step engaged, and with the idea of not breaking her, still managed to run 12.3. The cage is a safety measure. Besides if I run 11.5 or faster they boot you from the track.
Tonight I will be cleaning the bars and then using some gray primer and gray paint to color them as close to the interior color as I can. I installed several sheets of stick on insulation to the drive train tunnel as well. Last year my leg would start to get hot after running around on a hot day.
And Rob, I am finally ready to do the rear sub box, I don't think her took away too much room.
