Yes, you are now an 8% share holder in 935 Motorsports :)

What about the cat? What are you going to run in the middle?

Actually, it shouldn't be that loud with the silencer in. I have a similar muffler setup on my MK2 NA with modified header and it is not that loud at all. Rumbly, but not loud. But that is if you have a cat. With a test pipe, you will have a expect it to be a bit louder.

I'm afraid I have bad news. Even though I took very good care, and did everything I could, it seems as though the Supra gods are not smiling down on me. I did an oil change at work today... there was metal on the drain plug. I pulled the oil pan. Looks as though she's spun a rod. I believe one of the bearings is toast.

So now, I'm left with a choice. I can either put new bearings in, or replace the motor. Natalya is my DD, but I can take public transit for a while. I want to go GTE, but I haven't had any luck finding a donor car. There's a clip on Ebay, but the harness is cut.

I'm asking that if anyone can help me with this, please do. Northern California is preferred, SoCal is okay, but not to much farther. I love my car, and she's come to far to die. I'm trying to source a 100% complete GTE swap. I'm sure everyone here knows what that means. In the meantime, she'll be parked in my driveway. If you have the complete swap, please PM me or email me.

Thanks guys.

Okay.. I've decided exactly what I'll be doing. I'm not going 7M-GTE. Actually, Natalya is about to be 7M free. On 5 seperate occasions the 7M has blown up in my face. One oil burning engine, 2 BHGs, and 2 rod knocks. I just can't deal with the inherant unreliability of used 7Ms any longer.

Therefore, I have decided that Natalya will have a 1JZ-GTE transplanted into her. I will probably have the swap done @ Driftmotion, assuming the car will make it to LA. Haven't decided that yet. Now I start to save my pennies to afford the swap. Hopefully I can have enough in about 6 weeks, so long as I don't spend money on ANYTHING.

I didn't want to have to do this so soon, I hoped the 7M would last at least another year. Damn 7M...

Good to hear your going 1j. but the 7m isnt unreliable my friend, its just that for some odd reason you came across bad motors. But be careful and don't get rod knock on your 1j and the next thing you'll be talking about is getting a 2j! lol good luck man!

Well, since you got the oilpan off, why not replace the rod bearings before you get knocky knock music? I blame the BHG for the bad bearings, but assuming you did do a good job on the repair, replaced the rod bearings. You'll be good for another million years, or atleast you'll buy yourself enough time to think about what engine you want to go in your car, saving up money to afford it too.

This is the last time you will see her with the 7M-GE engine. By the end of October, she will have the 1J installed and (hopefully) running. I'm contacting Driftmotion now. Say good bye to the NA freak of nature, she's about to have twin turbos!

Alex,
Good choice on swtiching to 1JZ. May I suggest, while you are at it, swap out the twins for a single setup. It will be a higher initial cost but will save you some headache and some unnecssary/unwanted headache down the road.
