I tried to start it today, with no luck. There was what I think was a backfire though, there was a pop and my friend saw some smoke come around the TB area, and I smelled fuel, he said I lost a good amount of fuel pressure when that happened?

I pulled plug #1 and it smelled like fuel and looked a little wet and oily.

I'm not sure if it was just about to start when the battery lost it's juice, or if my timing is off... I thought I wasn't getting spark (skeptic of my cables) but then what could that pop be otherwise?

The battery is dead, and on a charge right now, I don't have another vehicle to jump it atm (i'm 'borrowing' the battery from my DD)

I'm pretty sure I set my timing correctly, so after the battery charges for abit I'm just going to try and start it again

It started!!!

Still won't stay running though, I have determined there is a fueling issue

The pressure takes too long to rise, and then as soon as the car is started the pressure just drops until it won't run anymore

I am not looking forward to taking apart my fuel system :(

I have a new 10 guage wire running from the battery to the pump so I doubt that's the issue, but I'll check anyways

You tell me! I got it from you as well as the walbro about 2 years ago LOL. Iirc they were used for only a few hundred km's before you switched to LPG.

Check your lines. If your going back into the gas tank check the hoses on it, or maybe you did what i did and forgot to plug the harness all the way in until it clicks....

From there i'd just double check your rail.

I'm not using a harness, I just used female quick disconnects, so that can't be the problem

I'd also try a freeflow test and see if it's flowing volume from the return hose just off the rail then again at the return before the tank.

I got a new battery today, then tried again, the voltage was 12.38 at the relay, 12.39 at the battery, when I jumped the relay to trigger the pump, voltage dropped to about 12.1

I'm deciding voltage is not my problem

Disconnected the return line from the AFPR, and nothing came out when I powered it up!! I pulled the feed line to the afpr, powered up the pump, and after some waiting some fuel dribbled out :aigo:

So that means I have narrowed it down to the feed line, between the afpr and pump lol, not sure if I have more time today but we will see!

I don't think my fuel gauge works, and my low fuel light is on... I'm ignoring it though, assuming it is faulty:
The tank was completely dry, I filled it with at least 9 gallons - I'm pretty sure this is more than enough for the first 20 miles without running too low

if it was sitting for any period of time with open lines, just about anything could be in them. I had a family of spiders living in mine. Pull the lines at both ends and force some air through them.

I come from a land down under
Jag: Time to drop the tank and run all the lines and fittings.

Do as Pete says and blow the lines through with the compressor and do a freeflow test on the pump with no lines.

I found the clog!

I disconnected the flare union by the firewall beneath the clutch cylinder, hooked up a rubber hose to the hardline (not return line), had my friend turn ign on with the diag. box jumpered, the pump filled half of a 20 oz bottle in a few seconds, so flow is good!

The short flexible line with a banjo union on one side, and the flare union on the other is where the clog is! I'll try and get a picture, but the banjo fitting is completely clogged!

Good idea blowing compressed air through the lines, I will get the return line... but considering I found the clog I'm pretty sure I'm set :D

No kidding! I was really dreading having to empty it and drop it again!

I have another question regarding timing

The first 20 miles are crucial, as everyone knows, so I'm just supposed to drive it as soon as It idles properly without leaks, but what about the timing? Can't set timing until you're at full operating temperature, so do I just run with what 'feels' like good timing for the first 20 miles, and then set it properly?
