i've been puking and shitting my insides out for the last 3 days, but i did manage to get my ass out to lowes and get some bolts to mount the engine on the stand. i'm hoping to rip everything out of the engine bay new years...then clean fix rust unde battery tray and paint the bay.

pistons are sold i think...

going for the oem rebuild with MHG and arp's...57 trim ct26...i decided to pick up more classes at school so money is better spent at school.

doing some research though and it looks like i will still be able to reach my goal of 400 whp or damn close to it...

parts ordered:

aisin oil pump
gmb water pump/goodyear t-belt and tensioner
OEM gasket kit.

i also just received a 3" turbo elbow from a member here...took it to school and sandblasted it then painted it high temp black :icon_bigg looks purdy i'll post a pic later.

o and engine goes to machine shop when gasket kit arrives...working on getting everything else i need.

2 q's i got:

i should wit till the machine shop is done to order my mhg right?makes sense...what RA shoul i tell them to machine head/black at?

and where can i find OEM rings (other than stealership).i dont wanna run chrome rings...

i believe the MHG needs an RA of 15 or better to seal correctly. also yea you should wait because you have to figure out what size MHG to get depending on how much material was removed by the machinist.
you could always get some rings off ebay... i got everything on there.
which pistons are you gonna be using?

i'm goin to be using the pistons that came with the motor.they have perfect pistons to wall clearance and are scratch free.the motor was rebuild recently, i didnt believe the guy when he told me but it was indeed rebuilt.also all the rings on ebay are chrome rings which from what i've read are bad for our block...

don't you have to worry about the tight tolerances? All due respect to Jon, he says I should leave it to the pros... :dunno:
