Didn't quite get as far as I wanted to this weekend, stayed up till 3 Friday night and worked all day Saturday, but had some clutch alignment issues (southbend alignment tool FTL). Engine and trans are bolted together sans 3 M12 bolts on the bellhousing (doh, still looking for those):
p3160080uo1.jpg

Also managed to turn my 2.5-car garage into a one-2jz garage:
p3160078wg4.jpg

Have a few wiring questions for the gurus:
First, tried to split out the temp sensors to run the cps and AFM wires to the other side of the engine and found that there is 1 wire on the temp sensor and AFM clips that are spliced together (on both of my 7M harnesses):
p3170086gv0.jpg

p3170087fn6.jpg

How'd you guys fix this to separate them?

Also, the TPS wires are a different color (splicing 2j plug into 7M harness), I think hottscennessey used the 2j TPS, did you just match the wires up across the connector?
p3170089un2.jpg

The knock sensor wiring is too short if I route the harness over the lower intake and the injector clips don't reach if I go under it, how's everyone routing them?

Last ? (for now:biglaugh:)-to eliminate the VSVs, do I just plug the vac hoses:

Got some more stuff done last night/this AM. Have about 80% of the wiring done, mobes is gonna lend his skills to finish the other 20% :) CPS is very poorly modded (I call it dok-style) and in and I ground some on the p/s bracket:

p4020086zm4.jpg

You guys who've done this, you think it's enough to get the lines in there? It looks like I'd have to put the lines on the comp and then bolt it on because there's no way the bolts would be able to slide in there...

I'd say take the PS pump off, put the AC pump on, then put the PS pump back on after you get the engine in and attach the lines. The PS pump isn't too difficult to bolt on with the engine in the car.

Let me try and answer a few.

First, get your grinder back out!! You will need to take off more than that. See the threaded hole on the P/S bracket.. grind that face down until you are close to the bolt that is in that hole. The line is really too high as well as too far forward, so you need to remove material both ways..clear as mud????

Wiring.

The wire for the temp sensor also joins the AFM wiring. I added about 18 inches of wire from where they splice together and ran it back across the front of the cams to the intake side to reach the temp sensor.

TPS. I used the 7M TPS so I kept the 7M plug. I could never confirm which wires matched on the 2JZ TPS... You will need a 7MGE TPS though as it is 90 degrees different. If you use a GTE TPS it will point straight up!!

Injector wires. Well I used 550's so I had to wire in a new pigtail as the plug is different, so I had plenty of length. I would just extend your injector wires a few inches. Don't mess with the shielded knock wires if they work OK.

VSV's. Just block off all the lines. I have none at all.. works good.

Keep going, your close now:biglaugh:

So basically cut from the line over (my MSpaint skills are as good as my wiring skills:biglaugh:):

Few other things from helpful PMs (mobes, yankiwi, and hottsc):
Gauge temp sender: "The single wires, one is the water temp (Yellow/Green) and the other is the cold start time switch (Green). You'll want the Yellow/Green wire."

TPS (from mike_lex on SF):

What I gots (7M harness, 2j clip in foreground:
p3170089un2.jpg

So I think I can go blue/red on the 7m harness to blue/red on the 2j tps, yellow to yellow, and brown to brown, and then hook the red wire to the red stripe wire. Not 100% on that yet but we'll see :sarcasm:

Your ms paint picture is much better. What I did was angle it a little, so if you took the red line you drew and moved the top to the right, the bottom to the left a little it would look like mine. I have about 1/2 inch from my AC line now.

I wish I had taken a pic!!

MSpaint FTW!! Bout to head back out with the grinder and make more of a mess in my garage :D I'd be getting alot more done if there weren't clouds of pollen blowing around :nono:

Yankiwi-A/C wiring Q-what'd you do with the connector that comes off the bottom of the 2j compressor? I was planning on just splicing the connector off the 7M clutch wire the 2j clutch wire but wasn't sure what the extra connector was for...

Now your getting there!

The connector on the bottom of the 2JZ comp is not needed. I just spliced the 7M wire into the 2JZ clutch wire.

Woot, grinding done. I love inhaling metal! Put some new plugs in and tested my Edis-8 wires and they work like a charm (except for the one with the missing clip, good thing I have 8!).

Trying to figure out how to clock the turbo so I can hook up my IC piping and the oil drain. Kind of a PITA, wish I could leave the turbo and manifold on the car to drop it in but I guess that's one of the compromises of a $100 manifold...

BTW-if anyone needs some parts to turbo a Ford Escort I'm parting my wagon :) No worries though, I'll have another to play with AFTER the Supra is done, some guys I work with and I are building a 2dr for the Grassroots Motorsports $2008 challenge :D

It's in!! Jon came by earlier and gave me a hand, fixed up my reverse light sensor too :) Have a little more rewiring to do (Alt and ISC) and need to mount the IC and figure out the pipe routing but the hard stuff is done. :D Gotta rip some stuff off the Escort tonight that I need to ship on Monday but hopefully I'll be back to the Supra tomorrow.

Been busy and sick the past week or two but I managed to do a few things. Got my oil drain made this weekend after I recovered from my hood almost killing me (now have a set of brand new hood struts):
p4230093ne1.jpg

Slapped the turbo on the POS ebay manifold and started mocking up IC piping:
p4230089pt7.jpg

Can't run the piping downward towards the swaybar because the rad hose gets in the way. Thinking this will be my best bet (horay for having to order $50 more worth of silicone!!):

Spent alot of time standing over the car scratching (my head mostly) trying to figure out the hotside piping. Here's the best I came up with using a silicone 90, I also ordered a cast 90 that will hopefully come out a little cleaner...

That doesn't look too bad. Mine has a tight 90 off the turbo as well. If you need any 2.5" straight couplers or T-bolts, I still have a few left.

yep, I'd have a cast aluminum 90 degree welded on the outlet as that 90 looks like it would be a bitch to replace if you popped it on a "spirited" drive through the Austin hills...

Speaking of that, it's about time ain't it?? Wonder if we drove JohnnyD off with all of the video hatemail :)
