Well last night I was able to fix the hot water valve. It was a combination of things. Shaft being dirty, and having crusty crap on it, with I clean up with a little emery cloth. Then lubed it up once done. Also replaced the bad VSV with another one I had around. And last found a vacuum leak under the cruise control unit. Stupid vacuum leaks. I also went over the rest of the vacuum lines just in case and the rest looks to be good.

Thank you all!

Now if I just could get my idle on warm up good I would be happy, but I have a feeling that I will need an EMS. Here is what is happening. On The first start up (temp around 30-40 degrees) the idle is good and high (1500 rpms) for the fast idle.(guessing ISC is open) Once off of the warm up cycle the rpms drop to 600.(guessing this is when the ISC closes) Then once the engine is warm or temp gauge is showing about 1/4 the way up the idle is fine once again, around 1000 rpms. I’m guessing the TCCS just doesn’t know what to do with thextra air fromthe 272's, 1mm oversized valves, huge Q45 TB, and the FFIM.

Other than that is drives pretty good, other that the huge TB that allows way to much air in once the TB is crack open a little, and the code 52. Some more tinkering time is needed.

Well this last weekend (3-7-09) I made the subwoofer and a battery enclosure built in. (pics are on the camera still  ) I will try and update pics after work today. I still don’t know if I am going to vent the battery or what yet. For now I just used some rattle can black paint on the MDF since I don’t have the carpet yet. I’m still surprised how well it sounds for being a old school MTX 5000 12” sub and a even older school 90W Alpine amp. BTW the sealed enclosure has approximately 1.19 ft^3 witch I have no idea what this MTX thunder 5000 12" sub needs.

I Cleaned up some of the wiring in the hatch area, but then ran out of small wiring loom. So another trip into Cloud to pick some more up is in need, I’m just being lazy because this past week since we received another 3” of snow with rain before that, and now it is just fing cold out (-14 this morning). With that and the Caddy in the shop having the T-56 transmission rebuilt under warranty I have also been at the mercy of the supra gods and street conditions for driving the sup.

Still have a small oil dip somewhere, which pisses me off. I just don’t want to lay on my back right now and find it. Last time I looked at it almost looks like it might be coming from the oil filter housing so I might upgrade the oiling system before I planned on it. Also still have code 52, but I haven’t looked into it at all. I just need to ohm out the knock sensor wires, and go from there.

I have noticed (or maybe just because the car is 20 yrs. Old) that I have to crank the engine for around 3-5 seconds before it starts. Is it this because our fuel pump doesn’t turn on until it “sees” engine rpm or what not? But once the engine is broke in and I upgrade the fuel system it will probable just fix itself :evil2: Also I think I will now add a oil accumulator for startups when I upgrade the oiling system. I can hear everything going on inside the engine on the first start up of the day for a couple of seconds until oil pressure comes on. I will use a time delay solid state relay so it would be fully automatic with the “key on” and the 12vDC valve. Probably set it to 30 seconds or something in that area. This way it would be something like this: Key on, valve open, engine start, valve stays open for another 20 seconds to re-pressurize the accumulator, then close valve, and it would be all automatic witch I like.

New parts ordered/arrived: Remote (mounted on steering wheel) for the head unit, M.C. shifter bushings , rear view camera, carpet for enclosure.

I tell you it is never finished. There is always tinkering that needs to be done and it will nickel and dime you to death, lol

ii really really like the oil system idea for startup, On my car sometimes i have to give it gas to start when cold and it it revs just a lil, u really hear everything moving on the inside as u said until the oil pressure comes up.

926-- check your fuel pressure. Normally when you have to give it gas (like a carburetor car) the FPR is going out. I have owned 2 cars in the past that did the same thing and once I replaced the FPR they were good to go. But If your idle is off, like mine during the warm up cycle, I have to also help it out with a little gas pedel if I stall the engine.

Ok I don’t hear everything, but I can hear it on start up. How to describe the sound, I don’t know it is just like every other engine I have and had i guess. Maybe I’m just a little more picky about this one. I can try and make a video but I’m sure the sound wouldn’t be the best.

Pre-oiling probably isn't needed but I rather just be on the safe side of things plus it would just be cool to have (and leak) I think. It wouldn't hurt anything. Plus with this 7M I over doing everything that I change/ touch.

Oil is conventional 5W-30 right now for brake in with a wix doing the filtering for me. LOL I have changed the oil 3 times on this engine now and there is only 714 miles on it. If you want to know once there is 1500 or so miles I will be switching to redline (yes the $12 a qt. stuff)

yep works great at 70-75 mph. At lower speeds 30-50 it is jumpie. I need to move the "ball" out further from the center point so it is smoother at low speeds.

Pics on post 9

Today I will be installing the reverse camera and for shits and giggles Im also going to install one some where in the front bumper area. Then clean up the wiring.

Also on the way home last night the oil temp gauge was freaking out jumping from 180 ish(witch in norm) to max., back and forth. I will check out the sensor and make sure the ground didnt come loose.

Today the weather man said it going to be 50+ degrees up here in Mn.:aigo: So I think some car washing is in order, and maybe a cruse with the Targa off!

92nsx, I did it, I took out the 3000 yesterday and put on almost 100 miles. I went to see the MR2 and they were working on it! Not only were I able to fit in to the 3000, I also sat in the MR2 to see if the over head roll bar's would hit my head. Now I remember how small the MR2 is,but what fun it is!
I did get on the 3000 to test it on the highway. It hit boost about 4200 and went right on up to 9600rpm's, now I am passing everyone so I had to back it down.
To day will be a nice to go for a drive

Also picked up 3 yards of gray suede to recover the sunvisors, targa, rear area and the piece above the sunvisors. Maybe I will get started on them tonight.
