You have a nice car there! Nothing wrong with an automatic and wanting to keep it stock. It'll be worth more if you keep it that way. Also it'll be reliable! My 91 was all stock and I could've driven around the country worry free. My current supra is an 89 with close to 400 hp at the flywheel and I travel with half my garage in the hatch haha. Still love it though.

My thoughts on special year models:

1987. Very special. First year for the turbo in the US.
1989. Very special also. Lots of changes that year and it has it's own unique steering wheel not shared by any other year models...in the USA.
1992. F**king awesome. Nuff said.

Which front grill emblem/logo? I was leaning towards 'Toyota' to keep it simple...
but then saw '3.0 Turbo' which seems much harder to find and not cheap...
http://www.suprasport.com/30-Turbo-Badge_p_227.html

The site is obviously out of them, and heard that Toyota used to sell them, but not anymore...
Any ideas where to find the '3.0 turbo' emblem/logo?

Edit: ordered '3.0 turbo' emblem from Toyotapartszone.com part # 75321-14780 for $35.37...

EDIT: UPDATE again, order got cancelled because this part is discontinued... should have figured lol

Started cleaning the interior, and this black jacket stuff seems to work well on black leather... Just sucks when the leather starts cracking, guess there is only so much I could do...

Not saying I condone violence of any form really, but that would be enough for me to consider tattooing her forehead with "I'm a crazy bitch". :nono:

Quick question, and sorry but I am too lazy to look it up.. Found this but no help...
http://www.tigersport.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/mk3supras/diag-supra.htm

My clock, radio and fog lights and interior lights(on roof) aren't working... Is this due to a malfunctioning diagnostic code that needs to be reset...?
Me and my friend already had to reset the airbag light with the diagnostic utility with jumping wires...
Check your fuses? Is the hazard switch plugged in? IIRC, the hazard switch is tied in with those... don't quote me on that though, been a LONG time since I've seen that issue.

Thanks for the suggestions, as you all have been so much help and support me in continuing this project...

Got a quart of 3E5 Super Red II paint...
Tomorrow going to repaint the plastic side moldings/side striping... Should I mask the sides off and paint them while on the car, or take them off and paint them?
Does anyone know if this is help on just by adhesive or are they clips, because i'd hate for them to crack off and make it so I can't put them back on... or stuck buying more parts...

Also the paint recommends clear coat, should I add this on, since these sides are made of flexible plastic?
I believe that Toyota's before 95' never used clear coat, but I might be wrong on this...

So got the electrical issues figured out... Just the dome light fuse was out, and linked to the fog lights, clock and radio... And now just to find this... HELP lol...
After reading the manual, Is it worth getting fixed or looking into a new radio at this point? I tried looking for the radio code but lost it, so am wondering if it's even worth taking it to Toyota...

Not to sound cocky, but driving around and getting attention in the old school Turbo inline 6 classic is definitely a nice feeling...
Some guy came up to me at the gas station and told me "Best car ever made!" and people give me thumbs up all the time...
I guess it's a thing that car enthusiasts really appreciate...

I am stating this because I saw this article here... And was hoping that us Mk3 owners weren't too much of an enclosed group of biased Supra owners...
http://speedhero.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/10-reason-mk3-supras-are-garbage/
Even after reading and the flaws(BHG and weight), I don't care as anything can be fixed...

I've owned an S2000, and now drive a civic... and there is still nothing like getting into the Supra as everything is where it's supposed to be...
I grew up sitting in the backseat of the car and my dad took extraordinary care of the car, 'wouldn't even let me shut the door' lol

I love my Supra...

I got asked twice last week if I wanted to sell it and "Supras are bad ass!" "A guy had one at the street races and killed everyone" when driving my wife's 86.5. I get more attention in it than my 89 and 92..:(

I catch nearly any other "sporty" car driver staring at my car, and it's absolutely filthy... Almost always driving the opposite direction though, for some reason. And I wouldn't give that article much though, the guy clearly doesn't get the intent of the design. :p

Always liked the thought of an S2000, like a Miata (had a couple of those, enjoyed them) on steroids. Thing is, for a few thousand more, you're edging into NSX territory...

Seems they were nice enough to at least leave a note, right? Oh, and from my experience with that EXACT type of collision (what appears to be a truck backing into you) will cost anywhere from $1200-1500, those power/heated mirrors weren't cheap in 2006, and I doubt they've gotten any cheaper...

Yeah, they thankfully had already filed a claim, so i just brought it to the shop... They roughly estimated a bit over a grand. The car also had 3 dings total, and the shop will take care of these for $65 each...

Edit: sorry for the big pics, I made them all small links to the pics...

te72, you might be right about the estimate as they found more 'complications' at the shop and therefore are keeping it there longer... I am still awaiting for the progressive adjusters to give me a call back with more details...
I was a bit uncomfortable as they could not find a replacement door(rarity), and therefore are repairing with 'panels'...

Anyways, my next step is to restore the rims... as I don't plan on any aftermarket ones anytime soon...
Is it worth sanding them down and painting them with clear coat? They are somewhat curb-rubbed and as you can see from the pic, the center caps are starting to flake off...
That, or bring it to the shop as they already gave me an estimate of $400 for a brand new factory look...
