Yeah, me to. This is one of the best threads I've read in a long time, and extremely interested in the outcome.

Yeah and the ITB's would be a nice addition to those cams too.:naughty:

Only news I have, is Kenny did put another pic, over on CS.com of the manifold and ITB's on his work bench. He also put up a pick of a turbo manifold, the owner of EB built for his Z-car ;)

Apologies it's going so slow guys, but, we do have "semi" normal lives, families, and probably tooooooo many other projects being worked on at the same time.

This being a personal project for us, puts it on a back burner if a pay job shows up. Besides working a day job that is non car related.

GB ? Is a possibility ... we'll deal with that when the time comes. Will the misc. parts be available seperately ? yes. The plan is to put together at least 5 "kits" to at least get a few guys in at a lower price than what buying it all seperately.

I'll be harassing Kenny today, to see when I get the ITB's and mani. back in my hands. The test mule is sitting in the driveway, awaiting parts ;)

Here's pictures of the completed manifold.

This iteration preserves the ability to disassemble the manifold. Metal manifolds will be optioned to be welded. Not welding allows for additional tuning options.

The ITBs and manifold will be photographed for documentation this evening.

Then they go to Shawn's for installation. We hope to dyno just after I get back from Phoenix after Thanksgiving weekend. I have lined up COLT CAMS 268/.413s to test with the ITBs. I am working on a 150 shot nitrous application to test, too. There are three ECUs to test, also.

This shows the jack-shaft style linkage. Mine will operate two sets of three ITBs from the center of the manifold instead.

Once this is in Shawn's hands I'll begin the 7M manifold. My d/d is an 87 GTE minus the T, soon to be T, again.

I need to get my Eibachs and 19s on the MKIII. When I got it, it had the 7MGTE no turbo running on a 7MGE 5sp ECU through an auto harness to a GTE dash and there were problems. I swapped in a spare non-turbo dash and it cleared up alot of problems. I have the GTE harness and the rest but I will wait until I get the N/A manifold done.....

There should be 7MGE manifold to show in the next three weeks. The owner is attending PRI and wants a 7MGE manifold to show and I'm going to get one ready.

I can have the test car for the 5/6m ITB's in the garage for initial testing in short order. The car in the way needs about 3 hours work.

Good to see/hear I'll have the ITB's here this week. Also, the new charger for the camera showed up today :D So the install will be well documented.

Harness for the EMS is on paper, and in the process of being built, so, no worries there. I also will pull the AFPR from the 7mgte car for this so we don't need to get another right away.

Are you sure you guys don't need another test motor to install this system?:naughty:

Looks good, looking forward to seeing the install pics and dyno #'s

LOL, I have 5 MKII's, and maintain 3 more, help with another 6 or 8. Kenny has the NA MKIII now, so we have that covered. When we test on a boosted car, it'll probably be on my TO4'd 83, or, I'll just throw another one together "I think I even have enough parts,or damn close to it".

Trust me, I'm looking forward to this as much as anyone. I really needed something "different" to play with.

Kenny --- I think I'm going to make Paul give me those 1j's for shop rental/time working on his P.O.S. :naughty:

I got an email today that I will test and dyno a new 7MGE ITB manifold. I should have it within three weeks. I have a 3D design file in the email if anyone is interested.

I think the GTE ecu and harness will be the first ecu I use with it. I'd also like to try the 3VZ as it has sequential injection. Then start with standalones. I have three to test.

Here's the last picture I took before some good pictures are taken. Shawn should get the manifold from the photographer's in a few days. He'll test fit and work out the details. I'll be finishing up the extensions for the velocity stacks. I have to add about 9 inches for the ram-tuning at the dyno rpm on stock cams.

Why the gte ecu? Doesn't it have a less aggressive fuel map without being boosted? I know it'll run, but wouldn't the fuel maps for the n/a offer better performance?

I just did a quick TE value for the 6M test car.

Since I'll be using my 87 I will try and get the info posted.
My 87 is a GTE with no turbo. I'll be reinstalling the GTE harness or doing another standlone on the 87. I think I should start with the GTE ecu and harness and show benefit.

I could dyno my 7MGE the same day we dyno Darrow's test car. He just ordered up some COLT 268/.413s for his car and we will get to test them. He's also going to run a 100 shot and we'll do that, too. In steps, though.

Kevin will attend PRI in two weeks and show the manifold and then he'll send it to me to test and dyno. I'm doing a comprehensive TE/VE/ME for that. He's working on a plenum manifold kit but I have the option of running PAUTERs and custom pistons so before I order pistons I have to pick cams.

I'd like to get the 5MGEs RACER some titanium valves before I start building my 7M, though. I just love the 7M stock for daily use and I'm in no hurry to get speeding tickets. I've been through that.

The GTE is a cumbersome plot, I agree. It's just that there is a strong do-it-yourself mentality that is the heart of the performance part of the forums. My manifold doesn't even need welding. It could be cut up and assembled in a weekend.

EXTRUDABODY wants to sell ITBs and manifolds have to be there to sell the ITBs. I accept this. But a generic manifold will work until the power plateau is reached. Then a custom manifold built to the owners' needs is needed.

I hope I sell 5/6MGE manifolds. I hope I sell 7MGE manifolds. But I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that it will be many. I can count 5 of each so far.

I wouldn't want to buy something untested. But this is a copy of a tried and true design with which I have experience. I want to show performance. But it still won't lead to a flood of sales. I argue as forum members we spend millions in the aftermarket but we don't benefit like we should because we buy what is offered, allowing others to design for our needs. We should lead in design.

Hey AJ, if I sent you the stuff how long would it take you to get it back to me? There may be window around the first of the year that you could test after I tested.

What stuff are you talking about? I'm still in the final stages (I hope) of tuning the Maft-Pro SD set up on mine. Was hoping to dyno by the end of the month to see were I'm at now. With holidays and everything comming not sure about that.

I'm kind of a nuts and bolts type of guy, not at all computer savy, but I'm learning.

If you want PM me Sarinas.

ECU, ITBs and manifold. You'd have to get it back to me in three weeks so that I could continue testing. I'd want to see a dyno and some tuning. But maybe we could do it later in the year, too.

I just took a look at your build and I'll put up a couple of studies for your expected performance. What size valves do you run?
