Idle issues - don't know what else to test

Ah, gotcha on the ECU changing the idle; I'm obviously still learning about the electronics. I wish I'd never changed the screw on the TB now... As for setting the TPS, it's still got the factory yellow paint on the screws; I don't see how toying with it will help anything, as it's clearly...

Idle issues - don't know what else to test

I set it higher by adjusting the screw on the throttle body; I had to do something to remedy it temporarily, as this is my DD. I didn't check the timing; I'll have to do that once I get it running again, but last I checked it was dead-on. That was a while ago though... Everything I've done...

Idle issues - don't know what else to test

Hmm...so were you able to fix it? I'd imagine all the blow-by over the years might be the culprit...

Idle issues - don't know what else to test

Alright guys, I set out today to try and find the root of a few problems I thought might be related; after a day of work, I'm more confused than before, and I'm out a $50 accordian hose till Tuesday :3d_frown: So here's the problem; I had to replace my battery recently after the car sat without...

    Idle issues after disconnecting battery...

Cool. I figured it was just the ECU goin back to the factory map, I was just wondering if it's as drastic for everyone else as it is for my car. I've never been able to just drive it around and have it fix itself; I've always had to adjust it some. Man...wish disconnecting the battery could...

    Idle issues after disconnecting battery...

Does anyone else have a problem getting their idle right after having the battery disconnected for a while? My car's done this before in the past and it's proving especially difficult to get it reset this time for some reason...I can get it to idle in the 700-800 sweetspot consistently.

    Finally lost my engine undercover...

If you ask me, I think someone should make and sell both the undercover AND the fan shroud together in one affordable package :naughty: They could call it something cool like "Ignorant P.O. Repair Kit"

    On the road again

Oh, check back with me in a few weeks haha. My to-do list only grew over the course of 4 months looking at SF everyday. First off is a fan shroud...easier said than done...:icon_mad:

    On the road again

Nothing too important, just wanted to share my joy with everyone here :icon_bigg I just got back in the country from being away for 4 months and I gotta say that I've fallen in love with the Supe all over again (as if I ever fell out of love haha). I drove my aunt's Lexus ES300 home from...

5-speed swap info - how to get cruise control and ABS working

Nocheez-definitely! I plan to get on the ball and meet some local Supra guys when I get home. They say you don't know what you've got till you lose it-to say I miss the Supra would be a massive understatement haha. As best I can recall, the A340E's sensor looks completely different and...

5-speed swap info - how to get cruise control and ABS working

Nah, R154 from the factory. Our cars actually seem to have been identical from the factory, cept for the tranny :biglaugh:

5-speed swap info - how to get cruise control and ABS working

The harness as well as the sensor itself are diff. I too have the ABS light and the PO had a diagnostic done at Toyota that pinpointed the rear sensor; I pulled one off an 86.5 A340 junkyard car but didn't even bother buying it once I saw it; completely different sensor altogether. My cruise...

    Hey all!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Oh well-it was fun while it lasted :icon_conf Anyway, I don't have any good pics, as I'm in Poland right now and my hard drive crashed while I was here :nono: I posted the only one I had in the "official teal pics" thread.

post pictures of your stickers on your car...this thread will own!! (and be gay)(NWS)

No pics cause my car's a few thousand miles away, but only 2 stickers on my car-one's a dragon and it's by the turbo badge out back, cause I've been there several times, and one on the bottom of the hatch that you can't even really see from behind cause of the spoiler, and it's for the...

    MKIII bites the dust..

The PO told me my car had this problem at one point as well. That's scary...on the other hand, I believe that if my throttle stuck and I was on a joy ride from hell, the first thing I'd do is fasten my seat belt (well, it would already be fastened if it were me, but anyway), and if I were...

    MKIII bites the dust..

I've always wondered if it'd be more likely to collapse or simply shear off? After all, it is only held on by 4 less-than-1/4" bolts...I'm sure it just depends on the accident though

That could be a number of things, but you speak of it as if it's happened all of a sudden?
