Here is a thread in the MK2 forum with screen shot of all his settings :

Your BOV is not broken, it is doing its job by opening due to pressure differential. Gas station air pump produces a much higher pressure than your boost pressure so something is going to give. I just hook up the leak tester to the turbo in place of the accordian hose, leave the throttle...
I have a set of used stock turbo piston/ rod, oil filter housing with bolt, oil pressure sending unit, oil pump (several) that I will let go for cheap, PM me if interested.
The spark table in MS is total angle. The standard 10 deg in EDIS 6 is the "limp home" mode if ECU spark signal is lost, or when the jumper connector is taken out. The wheel + crank pulley should be set at 0 degree with megatune set at 0 deg during initial setup, if it is setup...
Detonation makes sense, although I did not recall notice any pinging, any coincident that it happened to the back two cylinders, or the 7M runs hotter at the rear cylinders ? Thanks for the quick response.
My 7M recently developed a slight knock from the bottom end and I tear the engine apart to look for root cause. The rod bearings at 5 and 6 were worn, interestingly the bearing profile no longer conforms with the radius of the cap nor the rod journal. It has gotten smaller after removal...
The crank should not be too hard to turn over though, if you are using a 2ft bar and all your might the crank should move even the bolt is not fully sit ? Most people need to lock the crank to get that kind of torque, It is an non interfernce engine but may to make sure you do not have...
I will be watching this thread with great interest.
I have a similar problem as yours, smoke on decal. Worse when stopping for a red light at the end of a highway, smoke follows like the smoke monster and smells like exhaust. The car behind me actually stopped two car lengths away today so...
Anyone has a screen shot of their megasquirt spark table ?? I think I get a OK tune but like to have someone's table as a comparison. Thanks in advance.
check battery terminal first, until a few weeks ago I could not believe a seemingly good battery contact cannot even deliver enough juice to power a dome light.
I had a similar whistling sound during transition from vacuum to boost, turned out to be a loose spring in the BOV caused the valve to flutter at certain speed. A new BOV solved the problem.
5/8" Fuel hose should be easy to find, I got them by the foot from a local Carquest, or you can try marine store. just don't use coolant hose, not all silicon hose are oil resistance so be careful there.
I already have the flange from rabidchmip, but I am not planning to take the oil pan out to weld the bung, the drain will flow to the stock location in the block.
