In the article they advanced the intake 4 degrees and got peak torque 200 rpms earlier, they tried advancing 7 degrees and heard some rod knock so they backed it off. I was hoping someone had some numbers for the 7MGTE's.

The math comes out to be:
Stock: 16 X 7 with 38mm = 215.8mm = 8.49 inches /2 = 4.245 inches
New: 18 X 8.5 with 30mm = 245.9mm = 9.68 inches /2 = 4. 84 inches
so its really only .595 inches bigger on each side,
yeah I think they will be just about perfect also.

18X9.5-114.3 38mm for the rear
and
18X8.5-114.3 30mm for the front?
Is there any kind of spacer that would make it fit.
Pretty sure the rear is perfect, not sure on the front.
yes it is but i figure it is going to last a while and i should have some fun in it. I have a 15 yr old daughter that might get it in a year or so.

Iam in the middle of a rebuild and have no desire to put 18 yr old fitted hoses back on the engine. I have a hose tech silicon vacuum line kit but what about the fitted/molded hoses like around the throttle body etc.
Name is Jay, and Iam in chesapeake for the next couple of months. doing a n/a to turbo conversion right now, should get the parts back from the machine shop next week and the re-assembly starts. if you want to turn a wrench with me give me a hollar. i have all new parts going back onto this motor.
