yes it is but i figure it is going to last a while and i should have some fun in it. I have a 15 yr old daughter that might get it in a year or so.

I personally wouldnt give it to your daughter if I were you. bad things can happen in fast cars. not to mention, I'd rather keep it for myself, theres no reason she should get all the fun
Pictures of the Walbro 255 and new pump holder since i broke the old taking it off. Block and head should be back from the machine shop this week. A bit of a hold up since I was number 3 in line.
On the back of the new pump holder there is what looks to be a resistor or ground maybe? Any one have any ideas. You can see it in the picture with the blue wire.
Since baffles me that there are electrical connections in gasoline, hope the black wire was supposed to go to the black wire and the red to the blue.
Easy install.

I guess this is the only downside of a BBK I can't fit smaller cheap wheels and tires on to "Play"
Yup didnt want to break the bank on the wheels or tires. Wanted something that would be a little lighter, compliment the color (dark blueish purple), and be able to find tires easy. Settled on these Weapon wheels and Kumho tires. 275/17/9 rear and 235/17/8 front.
Here is a pic of the solid motor mounts. Used Grimjacks specs and a buddy that has a shop busted them out in a few minutes. $25.

Starting to get parts back from the machine shop. Got the pistons and rods back, rings installed.
Get the block and head back on Friday.
One question, the oil pump drive shaft has two bearings, the machine shop said they have to install them because of alignment. Any experience on these bearings, are they different than normal bearings.

Jay, those bearings are just like cam bearings in a OHV engine. Just like in a SBC, you need a special tool to hammer the bearings into place. It's no big deal, most machine shops do it all the time in V8s, so it cost much to have them tap them in for you. Also the oil hole in the bearing must be alligned properly to lubricate the bearing.

Thanks, yeah he was mentioning that they needed to be lined up correctly which makes sense, since one bearing is at each end.
