So, did I spin a bearing on my DD?

TSRM! TSRM = Toyota Service and Repair Manual, not Toyota Supra Repair Manual. It's very unlikely that it's a spun bearing. Usually a spun bearing is a lot noisier, and a lot more of a mess. You can check the oil for any visible metal shavings, but I doubt you'll find any. You can...

You Might Be A Ricer If…

yeah, I have aftermarket fronts, and run slicks on stock rears. ;) LOL at this one though 'You push your car through the staging lanes. That way, maybe you can break into the 16s by keeping the motor cool between runs."

    HKS External Wastegate Ports...

No. If you just used the top port, how's the wastegate going to know when to open? Think of it like this. if you have a 9psi spring, it will open the valve when there is a 9psi pressure difference between the bottom port, and top port. (9psi on bottom - 0psi on top = 9psi). Now, if you keep the...

    Fiberglass sub box mockup *PICS*

Virtual +1 to you. That looks pretty good. How high does it sit off the floor? As for the spare tire, I took mine out years ago. I carry a small can of tire sealant, and an air compressor in case of an emergency. It takes up a lot less space, and weighs a lot less too (not that that's...

Adjusting Accl. pedal and fixing shifter

How is the gas pedal not responsive? I believe there's a small spring up behind the pedal that returns it to its normal position. If that spring is worn out, the pedal will feel sloppy. I've also heard that later gen Celica pedal assemblies more or less bolt in, and provide a different...

    Carbon Fiber Driveshaft pics

I don't think it's really about bling at this point, more about decreasing rotating mass. That would be cool, but I would be afraid of snapping it in half on a hard launch. How's the price compared to Aluminum?

    Best path to take....

You'll probably spend the difference trying to obtain all of those hard to find parts. I will agree, front clip is the way to go. DriftMotion has some pretty cheap front clips.

    AC compressor

It sounds like the clutch pulley is going bad. The two halves of the pulley are scraping on each other. When you turn the A/C on, it locks the clutch, the two halves spin together, and no scraping. They're not terribly hard to take off. You just need to go find a new pulley. Check the Toyota...

1j Intake Valve - Where can I find one?

1mm larger diameter will give you a decent flow increase. I figured if you had to change them, why not upgrade them!

    ARG. Stupid cars!

Haha. He means well. He WANTS to know how to fix his car, but he needs some guidance. I'm all for having my friend drive a Supra. Honestly, a 5M is a pretty reliable motor. (I neglected to mention, this is NOT a MKIII) We're going to the junkyard on friday to get a new fuel level sender...

1j Intake Valve - Where can I find one?

It follows the principal of a staggered cam setup. I'm not saying its better, but there is a benefit. That's good to know though. I always thought 2JZ valves were 1mm bigger on both intake and exhaust.

    Ct20a's on a 1JZ?

The rear turbo doesn't have a wastegate. Because the two manifolds are connected together, the 2nd turbo can also be controlled via the wastegate on the first turbo. What the second turbo has on it, looks like a wastegate, but it's the pre-spool valve. It opens allowing a little exhaust to...

    1J With 2J MAP and 440's

Read various voltages at various different pressures, and logged the results. If I didn't sell my extra 2JZ sensor, I would go test them again. Here's a link to a discussion over on Toymods on the matter: http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15998 There was another discussion where...

Really? Because I have seen tests of 1JZ vs 2JZ sensor scales, and they were identical. I even tested my own 1JZ sensor. Maxed out reading at 1.3bar

    1J With 2J MAP and 440's

440s will make it richer everywhere. You'll be reading <10:1 a lot more. I hope you know 10:1 is RICH, and putting 440s in will make it RICHER. and just so you know, 2JZ MAP = 1JZ MAP. Different part numbers (different mounting), but same scale.
