That is not good to hear you can buy the plug though that you will need. Where were the wires cut? Is there any type of plug on there already because if there is not the plug you will need will not be much help. If you have the manual that comes with it, you may be able to find what wires...

The noise went away though, and continues to do so. Rod knock would be a constant noise occurrence.
