Car not starting randomly? READ THIS (30 Amp Starter Relay Mod)

As long as arcing didn't cause the brush to fuse in the rear position. Because that has never happened.

    Maft Pro open loop

Read the link. You can read all of it, but starting at page 14 explains open loop. The second link is written to OBDII but it that is fuel trim. Toyota just called it something else before being required to standardize terms. GM called it block learn.

    Maft Pro open loop

The feedback system isn't really capable of throwing everything (TCCS) out of whack. In fact, the system doesn't really have anything to do with improving hot starts, cold starts, or driving. It keeps the catalyst in the best operating range when in steady cruise. Good luck on your MAFT-Pro...

    Cardone manufactured MAF?

I would take my chances here at a lower cost. Of course if you find an LS400 that had been wrapped around a tree, they might let you take the AFM home at a decent cost.

    Cardone manufactured MAF?

If you are looking for a deal, why not shop some sort of classifieds for a used sensor?

    Cardone manufactured MAF?

Fuji makes the sensor for Toyota, and it is not a low dollar item. It is very high end considering the time frame. Then again, it wasn't even the best available, as hot wire mass airflow sensors from Hitachi was back then. Remanufactured in what way? Calling it a MAF when it is not makes me...

    E85 and CSI question.

It has lower BTU content. I said he should do what he has to do.

    E85 and CSI question.

Alcohol is a class here in NHRA. I get why people want to use it. In the US, they are paying a much lower price at the pump than they would with C16 because the tax payers have to pay a big price of the production. That is the subsidy. Ultimately, you do what you have to do. I simply don't use...

    E85 and CSI question.

I was referring to not using E85. The subsidy will end in time then market forces will change the price drastically. For a fuel with lower BTU content.

JZ Hydro fan help please Running full blast

I am going to make an assumption since you posted a JZ question outside the JZ section. The solenoid moves a spool valve allowing the passage of fluid. I would have to see it or the schematic and strategy from Toyota to know for certain. If that is what it does, then the spool valve is stuck...

JZ Hydro fan help please Running full blast

Isn't the solenoid supposed to allow more hydraulic fluid, and subsequently more fan speed when hot?

    E85 and CSI question.

Gasoline. 10% alcohol, as opposed to 85%. Higher BTU content. Unless you can rewrite the TCCS program to be like Ford EEC-IV. Which has no CSI, but runs much richer when the IAT and ECT are equal (cold start).

    E85 and CSI question.

A better idea is reverse the ratio to where it needs to be if you are having trouble starting.

    lumpy idle

41 has nothing to do with A/C switch. Open circuit means just that. The circuit is not complete.

    how-to fix/disable security system, 87 supra

That is more work than just pulling the door panel and fixing it.

    how-to fix/disable security system, 87 supra

Pull the door panel off and look at the cylinder switch. It might be broken off of the key cylinder.

88 Turbo with 55k - all stock, orig owner... thoughts?

I am not seeing any close to a museum piece. The interior is well worn for 55k, and the engine bay looks like shit. Sorry, I am not seeing $9000. It would be a great pick knowing abuse is minimal, but not at that price.
