Is there a trick to pulling the timing belt gear

Wriggling it around worked just fine for me. It catches on the Woodruff key. Many people have the same problem with the crank pulley.

    newb question about wiring harness

Use a wiring harness that matches the year span of your car. Stay away from '89 ECU's and wiring harnesses. You want an 87-88 Turbo wiring harness and ECU. It doesn't matter whether you use a 5-speed or auto ECU, ONLY if you're a 5-speed! And a 5-speed harness is preferable, but an auto harness...

Get the speed/density kit for the MaftPro, and there's no longer a need for the AFM. ;)

Update: 7/12/09- White car stripped for paint

There will be a HUGE update to this thread soon. Keeping my mouth shut for now, and many of you will likely be disappointed. I know I am, but it will be the best for me in the long run... :( There are select few people who know, and I will not give away what it is. I hope that those that DO...

    Exhaust manifold porting questions

I personally wouldn't waste my time porting a stock manifold. The small gains aren't likely to be worth it, or even that noticeable. Probably more of a placebo effect anyway.

    M3- Project JDM Euro!

Right on, OBD2 is a pain in the ass to turbocharge simply for that fact. How were you planning to lower CR, anyway? Were you going w/ 8.5:1 pistons, or a .140 MHG? With the .140 (like many of the BMW guys do), it brings your compression down about a full point, and many of them say that...

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

No, only damgae was to the crank snout. This. And this. How could they not notice if the snout was chewed up?

    BOV setup

Yes, but if your stock BPV is dead, it'll take you longer to build boost. ;) It's like a giant leak from the pressure side to the non-pressure side when broken. At least take it off and check it.

    stock turbo removal help

I suggest making some stainless steel braided lines for it, and then it's ridiculously easy to remove. ;)

    M3- Project JDM Euro!

It's tough. The Supra's drivetrain will handle the inflated power goals much better than the BMW's. (diff bolt comes to mind, as well as tearing up the rear subframe) In any case, if you're willing to put a bit of preventative welding/bracing in, the BMW will make a hell of a serious ride with...

    Fan Shroud Broken....Car won't Start

How would he get a hole in the condenser, but not the radiator? Condenser: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=8718&P=1 Radiator: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=1603&P=1 The condenser is on the front side of the radiator, so if his...

Crank bolt/pulley came loose..need some help

No, I epoxied the hole back to the proper size to remove the half-moon shape the woodruff key dented in the crank snout. As I said, I don't recommend doing that, and if it were MY car, I'd have fixed it properly. That was not an option for the owner of that car, so I did what I could to get it...
