I think it'd be worth it.
as for the car. Find the cleanest one possible to start out with. Dont bother with a 'project' car, they're just a pain in the ass and almost as expensive in the end.
From the pics (cant tell very well) it looks like they're too hot, the color change on the ground strap should be 1/2 through the bend and they look closer to the base ring.
The ceramic looks a little dirty its probably just the oil that burning as you say.
What did the 440s flow on the sheet? did you have to mess with the fuel any? I would assume if you didn't you had a bad set of injectors. When I've upgraded from 440s on a couple cars I've always had to pull more fuel.
How was it packed? I think it was just packed wrong. But yea, prackages aren't carefully taken care of, so pack for it.
Kinda of like my 125lb 6spd diff that came recently.. the bottom of the box almost ripped apart when I picked it up.. poor packing :(
Yea, itll work fine (like I said in the PM). You can setup AEM to control the fuel pump as aphexro said as well. I think you'll wire it to A24 on the ecu pin out. Not 100% sure on that, just look at the AEM pin outs available on their site.
