    Michigan Supra Owners Please Read!

Thanks for the post guys, I was thinking on the same lines. I am just having a really hard time bringing the Supra along for the ride, knowing that all she would do is sit in a garage! But I really don't want to sell it... Have any of you spent time in Ann Arbor? The good, bad and ugly? Any...

    Michigan Supra Owners Please Read!

Hey guys, I have recently been accepted into the University of Michigan's School of Dentistry for the entering class of Fall 2010. I am worried about the weather in Ann Arbor. My Supra is my baby and I would hate to ruin it in day to day transit to and from campus. What is it like for you...

Plagued with Valve Cover leaks, Any Ideas?

It looks like I have been under-tightening them... So hopefully with some lock washers and the right torque, my leak will go away for good...

Plagued with Valve Cover leaks, Any Ideas?

It's not leaking into the galley, just onto the exhaust manifold. I didn't remove it, it was gone when I got the motor. I had my machinist replace with gaskets when I got my motor rebuilt. I will get some more gaskets, and try again with some lock washers, and will definately torque to 22...

Plagued with Valve Cover leaks, Any Ideas?

I am missing the galley cover, not sure how that will help but thought I would state it. As to pressurizing the crankcase, it would make sense, but I do run a in-line air filter/oil catch can plumbed like this which is how JDub told me would work best. So I am not sure if a blown turbo seal can...

Plagued with Valve Cover leaks, Any Ideas?

yeah like I said, it straight as can be when I place it on my flat cement floor or anything "straight". As to the big allen bolts, they aren't the problem, the oil leaks most right out the right cover onto the exhaust manifold. Just more smoke... didn't know the supra came with it's own smoke...

Plagued with Valve Cover leaks, Any Ideas?

Ok, so ever since I installed my rebuilt R154 my car seems to be slowly falling apart... You guys think it's going through a mid-life crisis? ha ha. My turbo appears to have blown a seal, as it smokes, mostly blueish, sometimes more gray depending on light level. It gets more intense the more...

    Deceleration Smoke

I didn't clean out the orifice, I will defiantly do that as that was something I meant to do when I re-routed my pvc. The turbo was rebuilt, however not sure exactly by whom or when as it came on the motor that I acquired when I did my swap. But it has never had this an issue to this extent...

    Deceleration Smoke

OK, to start off, I just barely got my trans back from Marlin Crawler and got my car back together. My mods are rebuilt motor, w 7,000 miles on it running 0W-30 GC. Lex AFM, 550's, etc. Recirculated DM BOV. I am tuning with an AEM UEGO, AEM Tru-Boost and an SAFC II. The only thing I changed...

    Sloppy subs.

+1 on the JL Audio subs, best bang (both SPL and SQ) buck in my opinion.

    Mookeeh MK1 Gauges?

I run an AEM UEGO and an AEM Tru-Boost, been great gauges. Love the digital readout, because you can quickly tell at a glance where you are at, which is a big + when you are high boost levels :evil2:. I also run a Zeitronix for the data logging capabilities, which is something worth while to...

    Sloppy subs.

A properly built to the sub ported box has excellent frequency response. And the opposite is true for power. You need to amp a sealed box much more to get the same level of "bass" as you would with a nicely tuned ported enclosure. As to the SQ questions, as with the Supra, it is all in the...

7m 11's or bust almost 2 years in the making!!!!!

I had a faint Rod Knock when I first started my newly rebuilt 7M, it turned out that I forgot the last torque down on one arp rod bolt. But I did pull the whole motor to inspect to see if there was any damage (ran for maybe a minute). Re-torqued all the rods and mains, and it has been great...

    Sloppy subs.

+1 on the box. Your ports are likely not tuned correctly and you could probably get away with a smaller box. There are subwoofer box designing programs that take into account the crucial sub measurements, (ie. thiel, small, xmax, etc.) if you use a program and properly build the box, it is...

Can you reseal a new leaking oil pan?

Yes, The oil pan gasket can be done with the motor in the car. You can either drop the subframe or you can unbolt the trans and motor mounts and lift the motor up enough to slide the pan in and out. I would use rubbing alcohol to clean off the oil pan, and seal it with FIPG. Good luck!

    oil catch can install

Huh, well I didn't seem to find anything on any kind of Fuel Miser valve, but would something like this work? http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_PCV-Valve-Purolator_5850312-P_5_R|GRPFILTAMS____ Thanks!

    oil catch can install

IJ, could you re-post the PCV valve you are using? The link you had posted doesn't work. Would this work? It supposedly has 5/8" on each side, however one side is not barbed. But would the construction withstand moderate boost conditions? Thanks! edit: link below, forgot to include it...
