Oh ok! Thanks MKIII222, I never figured it had to be ran that way. Well I will hook it up that way and see if any thing results. So as to the airflow through the air compressor filter, should it be going the way I have it as pictured or reversed towards the valve covers? I take it, that it is...
+1 on NGK coppers. Used to be the 6097's now called the 4644 as stated above. (NGK BKR7E)
Have to change them more often, but great on boost! Driftmotion has them for $2.25 a plug, but you can pick them up at any auto parts store as well.
Good Luck!
I just have a quick question that hopefully someone will know the answer too. I am down for a tranny rebuild and while I wait for Marlin Crawler to return my transmission, I am going through things.
Here is my current catch can install.
The air compressor filter hasn't caught more than a...
+1 on Alpine, been running Alpine decks since 2002. Great stuff. New stuff not quite as good as the old stuff but more buyer friendly! :icon_razz
There IVA line up is great for Double Din applications. However, they lack the good processing capabilities right out of the box that some of there...
This would be an epic race! I have seen the Jawsgear car at SILV 08 and Duane was supposed to be there but he blew his motor right before! Sucks, I was looking forward to the smack down... Both cars are  in my opinion, but I think Duane's still has the upper hand :icon_bigg
For your fuel cut issues,
After you have double checked for boost leaks (build yourself a boost leak tester or coupler with a nipple to go over the turbo is a good way, then cap the other end before the throttle body.) make sure your wastegate actuator is not seized or locked up.
Mine did...
The main thing I use the two map setting on my SAFC II is so my car remains more "streetable". I run one at about 12 psi and the other at about 16. So it has it's uses, mostly just so you are running your car so hard all the time. At least with my car, I like to know I can run it hard as hell...
I see, Well maybe I will start with replacing the shafts and if the front pinion seal starts or appears to be leaking as well then I will get it rebuilt when I get the money... Thanks for all the help Poodles, it has been very informative.
Thanks again everyone,
Trevor
Well budget is pretty small. As far as I can tell it is really only leaking from the left shaft seal, I just want to replace them all while I have it out. Its mostly a weekend driver, so I don't necessary need it to handle 400+ horse, but would like it to not crap out on me if I decide to take...
Ok so the Crush Sleeve Eliminator that is from the ebay link posted would work? And would this be sufficient or should I still get shims. I did read through the link you posted poodles and I would definitely like to beef up the differential, but don't really want to remove anything past the...
Ok, so yes the differential will be out of the car, I think I would be crazy to leave it in to do all this! ha ha
So I need to pick up the crush sleeve and two snap rings. And then a new nut and the washer that goes behind it. Anything else? And does anyone know if I can pick up these three...
Well I was just going to pick some up incase, so while I was in there I could use them if needed.
So far I have:
3 Seals
What else do I need?
2 McMaster washers (optional for the side shafts)
New Crush Sleeve
New Nut (what is the stake that is involved, the part loosened with a hammer and...
Yeah the more I hear, I am thinking the Nitto's wouldn't be good for the track which is the only time I will put them on (even though I am probably on at a measly 350-375 rwhp and any drag tire would probably grip better than my streets...). Has anyone tried the Toyo TQ's?
Thanks for the input!
Ok, sorry to pry for more information but there is obviously more to this than I thought. I ordered the front seal (driveshaft), and the left and right gear shaft seals. So what else to do I need to ensure no leaks, etc? These McMaster Washers for the gear shafts Part # 3088A463 that...
Well I have decided to just replace them myself, as I am fairly confident that there is no damage to the LSD. I just placed the order with Jeff Watson at Champion, three new seals for around 40 bucks.
Thanks for all the help! It's much appreciated!
Trevor
yeah there is oil there and also burnt onto the bend in my exhaust right behind the differential. It is a pretty slow leak, ie. one drop every time I stop. I would just assume replace all the seals in the LSD but I don't know if this difficult, or in other words does an expert (rebuilder) need...
I truthfully don't know exactly where it is leaking. I thought when I first put in in it was leaking out the driver's side seal where the left axle bolts. I know it isn't leaking out the drain or the fill plug and doesn't appear to be leaking out the rear cover seal. I would think the two axle...
So my LSD has had a small drip since i put the 4:3 in my car from my turbo donor car about 2 years ago. I thought I had overfilled it hence the leak, a drop here or there. I have put about 7,000 miles on the car since then and yesterday before retrieving it from storage was changing the oil and...
