I have a 10psi spring I can send you for free to replace the one you swapped in. I'll have to take a look at the spring it comes with on one I have at the shop, it's supposed to be 10psi but maybe they made a change on us. If you changed the spring and the boost dropped, then the vacuum fittings...

Luckily, our Toyota cars use high quality components, and the bellhousing is fairly thick. I've never personally seen this happen on a Supra, so I don't want to scare anybody too much. Some of the $200 clutch kits do make you kinda wonder...
I thought you were goofing on someone else's car :icon_redf
I have talked to people who sell those batteries daily to racers of all types, and they say to mount it in a cool location, preferably not even in the engine bay. Although I did just look them up and see they have a high temp...
I'll put it this way...
If the 1jz Supra we sold for $4500 was a nice dinner, my 88 Supra would be almost full after eating it, but still hungry for desert. :biglaugh:
The green 4 pin connector is a very common spot to have a problem. There is so much heat there coming out from under the exhaust manifold heat shield that is cooks the cps wiring. Sometimes replacing the cps is the best way to go, but it's an expensive part. Some places sell them remanufactured...
7k miles is from my house to Florida, and back to my house, and back to Florida.
Or 3,500 two mile drives. :biglaugh:
Just sitting for 17 years it would get dusty even if it had never been driven.
This is going in my 88 Supra, that was the plan from day one. I'm going to take out the 7m that's in it now, freshen it up, and put it in my 4x4 Toyota truck :icon_wink
It's gonna look similar to this, but I had an intake manifold powder coated for it, and I'm going to use the Summit coils.
Dropped off all the head parts at the machine shop today.
Our new super-duper-kick-ass BHJ torque plate! It can accept up to .060" over cylinder bores, and has hardened inserts.
My Eagle rods. Thanks again Rich!
Block was cleaned and magnafluxed, ready for the full treatment!
I've heard stories of people getting their legs cut off when a flywheel comes loose at 9k rpm and cuts right through the bellhousing and the floor of the car like a hot knife in butter.
We use ARP's for the flywheel on every build and/or swap, it's not worth not using them. New stock ones...
That is soooo funny, especially when you consider that the only drawback to those Odyssey batteries is that they don't do well with heat! It's rated at 140deg f, but that is a much higher temp then I would want to expose it to.
