So it fires right up, but idles like a diesel truck and hesitates like crazy if I give it gas. The timing is probably off. I set the CPS per TSRM but can't keep the engine idleing long enough to set timing with timing light. The a/f is 14.7 at startup and drop to around 13.5 once operating temp...

It's a corbeau 3 point harness with retractors. Still having issues getting the tension set right. I shouldhave better luck once I install a harness bar which will aid in the angle. As a plus, it'll save my spine :)
Actually I thought the factory tanks were surprisingly affordable, like less than a third of what you're saying, but maybe I'm wrong. I would be weary to weld any used gas tank in fear that lingering fumes would turn the thing into a giant grenade. If you empty the tank, drop it, grind the seams...
I don't have any recent pics, but I can take some next week. Interior has held-up just fine for the most part. The paint hasn't flaked anywhere, but I left my car in the sun for a few days and the dash developed some small cracks in the vinyl, really pisses me off. But the paint held fine. Also...
I've been dealing with the same issue for some time now. I have created many posts on several forums and nobody answers, which leads me to believe that nobody knows. I can't seem to clear code 51 which is the idle signal. I have a few more troubleshooting options that I'd like to try, I just...
FTMFW!
This thread needs more 7M love.
Needs a really good cleaning, but still looks good for the amount of time it's been sitting. Fired right up today too :)
The 1JZ's ISCV uses the same connector as the 7M's, but I'm wondering if it's plug and play, or if it still needs to be rewired. Does any have links to the pinouts for both?
Thanks.
My Supra's experiencing the same thing. I had a few leaks to deal with, so I haven't even had a chance to troubleshoot it. I was throwing 2 codes, TPS and ECU Temp sensor.
The tank coating may be the same stuff. At least under the paint anyways. The factory coating on the tank is crazy thick. I went through 4 course wire wheels easily if not more.

I considered that, but I didn't want anything to get inside of the tank. I used painters tape cut with a razor blade to cover the openings in the tank.
Last night I found some old supra pics on my PC and came across a bunch from when I sanded and sound-deadened my gas tank. So I thought I would share.
Ok, so this nasty rusty thing is what I had to start with:
I used several course wire drill attachments to remove the factory coating. It...
No updates really interior wise. Everything is done except for installing the amps, subs, etc and recarpetting the trunk. I'm ironing out some minor mechanical issues first before I get started on that. My car's been moved around so much lately that it would make me too uncomfortable to have...

No, that's going to need to be applied to a smooth serface. I sprayed clear-coat over undercoating once, hoping that dynomat would stick. Long story short... it didn't.
