    Like I said, I run a ffim. Not using stock tb or turbo or boost levels for that matter. So pretty sure a check valve is needed run from the ffim to the catchcan. IJ's setup uses one there.

    Your turbo sounds fine to me. Minor side to side play is the norm for a journal bearing turbo. Upgrading to a larger wheel is always fun, but if cash is tight you can spread your funds elsewhere and just shim the wastegate of your current turbo to gain some free and easy ponies.

    Does the turbo smoke? Have you checked it for shaft play both side to side and back and forth and seen if it was in spec? Is the wheel damaged? Very hard to tell from the pics. Answer these questions and you'll know if you need a new turbo.

    Yeah Grim. The wastegate opening is ported as large as it can go. So much so that I had to have the flapper adjusted since it was getting hung-up on the edge of the ported opening.
