    Rod knock! Damn..

You shouldn't drive it if it's knocking! Have you found out for sure if it's rod knock?

    Rod knock! Damn..

I didn't say 1j or 2j is a bad choice, just didn't want to resort to that. It's a lot more work and it will take longer for me to get on the road. It may be a smart idea though, and it would be around the same price as a rebuild. I'm still deciding, I don't know what I want to do yet. I...

    Rod knock! Damn..

PM me a price your looking to get for it and if you could ship to 50317, add that in too please. I'm really looking to keep it less than .20 over but I would consider it.

    Rod knock! Damn..

I live in Des Moines, Iowa... I plan on rebuilding with eagle rods, JE's .20 over and clevite bearings. I'm aiming for 500-600whp no more, and I don't think stock internals would hold up that long. Are your shortblocks built? I'm talking to a guy now with one, but I'm still waiting on an answer...

    Rod knock! Damn..

So I got new drag radials today from my friend, so we put them on and I practiced some launches leaving at 4500-5500 rpms without much tire spin, that's what I wanted! Then we drove to get some food and on the way back from there we did some more launches. The last launch we did, we heard a...

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

I think I wanted to be everything you could imagine when I was younger.. After a certain age I was very interested in anything that drove and wanted to be a mechanic of some sort. I bought a model of an engine and put it together, did many model cars and had a bunch of Hot Wheels when I was...

    Driver door window issue

I have the same problem, my door sags and once I open the door the window rests on the seal from the door panel instead of the outside door seal, so water could just come in. That explains why I'm starting to get cancer at the bottom of my door!

    1/4 Mile Time's and Dyno's Stock/Moded

Sorry I'm going off topic, lets get back on the subject. I have no 1/4 mile times, but I know a stock turbo supra will be in the mid to low 15's, depending on the driver...

    1/4 Mile Time's and Dyno's Stock/Moded

He wasn't at the track last time i went. He has slips for mid 9's and I was running low 10's. I beat him on the street though, thats what I don't get, especially when i upped the boost a little shouldn't I have been beating his time? You would expect more traction at the track rather then the...

    1/4 Mile Time's and Dyno's Stock/Moded

Yes I did spin in first a little bit and just scratched 2nd and 3rd. It wasn't a prepped track, it is on the pit lane at one of our speedways here. I was on street tires also, everyone was spinning. My friends evo8 was spinning at least half of the track maybe more. He still had the second...

    1/4 Mile Time's and Dyno's Stock/Moded

Turbo cars always feel faster then what they really are! I was at the track, only 1/8th mile and was running a 10.2 @ 71mph. My 60ft was a 2.5 though I'm thinking thats what killed my times. But I raced a TA on the street and beat him on stock boost, and I raised the boost to 10-11psi and I...

Wrecked front end... looking to repair myself

I agree, you will end up regretting that, you get what you pay for. You could be lucky like my friend and spend 450 (the guy didn't think it started). All he did was plug in the coil and it fired, it had bhg though, and some body work gone bad on the qaurters, everything else wasn't too bad for...

Wrecked front end... looking to repair myself

Is the radiator support bent in that picture it's hard to tell, if so I would wait for one that has less damage or none at all. If I remember right our cars are worth around 2-4k in good condition. At a shop, to change a radiator support it is an 8hr job, anywhere from 50-70 dollars an hr. for...

Fresh paint job, over the winter!

I came up with an idea, using Era's idea. Hood, headlights, targa, pillars, hatch and wing all met. black or that charcoal grey (like nick stonawaski's), maybe a little darker, forgive me if I spelled it wrong. I like that color a lot, not sure how it would go with red though... Anyways, it...

Fresh paint job, over the winter!

Thanks for the pics guys. The accents look good, I've seen it done before and I really like it. The black/red car Era posted, I didn't like, so I'm scratching that out. The other red/black that splits at the bottom of the pillars looks decent, it does need to be glossy and then it would look way...

Fresh paint job, over the winter!

Yes I do like all black! I don't want another black vehicle though. I really don't want a solid color either, but I want it to look good. Just a clean, "factory looking" paint job that goes along with the car. What other colors would you guys match with red?

Fresh paint job, over the winter!

Yes thats what I think too, darker on bottom. I'm not sure if it would look weird or not, usually red and black go good together.. I haven't seen it on a supra. Splitting at the trim is kind of plain, I would like something different so it stands out a little bit but not to flashy, not too...
