I was getting that sort of metallic oil smell too and didn't think anything of it. Maybe a bad seal in the turbo. It turned out to be the head gasket area between cylinder 1 and 2 blew out. (2.0mm greddy mhg and arp studs)

I paid 300 for everything needed to swap from a auto to manual r154. From a local salvage yard. Your looking somewhere between 300~500. cheaper if your lucky.

A flowmaster super 44 with 3" mandrel bent exhaust with no cat to the end of the tranny has a good deep rumble to it. or to the back it dont matter.

I'm going to purchase a set rims next week and I was wanting to know what is the best style to go on a white mk3. I was thinking 18's with a gold center and a chrome lip. Either 5 spoke, split 5, or split 6. What do you think. Could you post some pics. All I can find are cheap ching...

Yep that looks like it. I heard the n/a intake was actually better because of the y-pipe after the throttle body splits the air for a better distibution to the cylinders

I run the same setup on my 1991. With the type-k fcd. did you get the little vaccum sensor that comes with it also. I have the name of the little bugger on the tip of my tounge. ^^^...

I don't think there any differences in psp's between motors. But someone would have to clarify. I have on from a 1991 gte

If you cant make a flange for the DP there is a guy on ebay who makes one that will block off the internal wastegate. Cutting of the little bracket for the internal wastegate would be a good idea also. A while back I made an adapter flange for my holset setup and never fnished it or used it...
